It is my humble opinion that we as Mainers have an obligation to tell the states south of us that if they want Wind and Solar, build it in their own back yard at their expense if they won't provide us with the supply of natural gas we so desperately need to convert our heating systems from oil to gas. We, as a rural state, should not be expected to give up our pristine environment, raise our electricity rates and impoverish our communities for them.
This is pure uneconomic and…

The Administration is taking a kind of unusual approach to the Climate Change issue and CO2 emissions, and I happen to think it is a good one. It is what I have been saying all along, that CO2 does NOT seem to be the driver of Climate Change, but cutting it is not a BAD thing. Over the last 20 years, we have done exactly that, and we don't intend to change horses mid stream now. But the question is, what economically produced power can we rely on for the next 100 years? That is what the EPA…

Again, our President is being targeted for his withdrawal from the Paris Accord by touting how the Chinese are beating us in cutting CO2 emissions and making the world cleaner. They are telling us that in one region, FIVE million people lived off wind, solar and hydro power for seven whole days. Wind and solar made up 20% of it and hydro the rest. 5 million people out of a population of 1.4 BILLION. What an unbelievable achievement!
China has not made any progress in cutting their…

We all know what Wind Turbines do to birds and bats. We know what the sounds do to people that live near them with high pitched and infrasounds. Now there is another species that may be endangered, the darling of Greenpeace and all environmentals, something even more sacred than Polar Bears.
A new study is being started after multiple strandings by enormous humpback whales off the coast where new installations of offshore wind turbines have been placed. While here on land, the sounds…

If this passes, it will be a nail in the coffin of Maine Solar Interests. Certainly Gov LePage will do the right thing and veto it if it does not go the way it should, and they would probably be hard pressed to over ride the veto.
Quite simply, the home solar business counts on their customers being able to sell the extra power back to the grid. While this seems noble, in actually it hurts the power producers, uses their transmission lines and stations without paying for them, and we…

Another swamp dweller may just be the one to finally expose the "renewable" industry. Think about the big solar companies like Solyndra, a personal friend and confederate of the "Community Organizer in Chief", who received a huge payoff and promptly declared bankruptcy, pocketing the payoff.
Solar panels have been falling in price because most are produced overseas. An American producer, Suniva, has been making panels and because they are not getting government money anymore, they…

The recent decision by our President is the right one. There is no doubt that the "environmental movement" has been co-opted by the far left to transfer wealth from the wealthiest nations to those that have chosen to believe that we should pay for our quest for freedom and growth. Sad to say the leadership in some of those wealthy nations has also been corrupted by those…

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
