China Putting Us To Shame?? Fake Energy News That Just Keeps On Being Published. Criminal!
Again, our President is being targeted for his withdrawal from the Paris Accord by touting how the Chinese are beating us in cutting CO2 emissions and making the world cleaner. They are telling us that in one region, FIVE million people lived off wind, solar and hydro power for seven whole days. Wind and solar made up 20% of it and hydro the rest. 5 million people out of a population of 1.4 BILLION. What an unbelievable achievement!
China has not made any progress in cutting their carbon emissions since the first IPCC meeting in 2000. In fact, their emissions have continued to RISE since then at staggering rates and will continue to rise, according to the agreement they made in Paris until 2030.
China has also promised to put $320 billion toward their "renewable" projects in the next three years while the estimates of our contribution was close to $4 TRILLION for ten years. Estimates are that by 2030 our economies would be pretty much EQUAL. I can sure see why!
The US has cut carbon emissions by MORE than any other country simply by the new developments in fracking and the boom in the natural gas industry. Many of our coal plants have been converted to gas. But coal is a lot cleaner now than it was previously.
President Trump has no reason to stop any of the progress we have made in cutting carbon emissions here in the US. He does, however, object to paying for everyone else to cut theirs from our economy. Paris did that. It is like the rest of us paying for our neighbor to reduce his electricity bill by putting up solar panels and having our taxes and rates pay for it. Robbing Peter to Pay Paul, I think that is the old adage.
