The anti-humanity proposals in Gore's latest initiative have as one of their chief goals the elimination of fossil fuels, full stop. Gore does allow for greater use of natural gas into the 2030s, but he eliminates coal right away. He also allows for oil use to grow into the mid-2020s, but "decarbonize" means just that; his plan inevitably ends with a phase-out of fossil-fuel use. Fortunately for us all—and make no mistake about it, the American people understand this—the…

Many articles have been written about the comparison of the energy efficiency of gasoline vehicles (E10 vehicles) and electric vehicles, EVs. Most such articles have various flaws. Many studies fail to use the lower heating value of the fuel, or fail to use the correct heating value of the fuel.
This study assumes, for proper comparison purposes, the EV and the E10 vehicles have the SAME drag resistance and rolling resistance, and therefore require the same energy (17.172…

Subsidies, subterfuge and subjugation on a legendary island.
The bait-and-switch scheme that Maine Aqua Ventus, under the cover of the University of Maine, has pulled on the people of Monhegan is a disgrace.

Lessons of ENRON IGNORED spawn Billion Dollar Green Bankruptcies
It was nice to read a piece in the Boston Globe yesterday regarding FloWind because this publication rarely shines their light on green energy failures. FloWind has filed for bankruptcy protection following a slew of green company failures as the result of the policies of the former MA Governor Deval Patrick Administration; I believe that MA is the U.S. leader in green company failures. Off the top of my head these…

The proposed rules set a standard of 42 decibels during the day and 35 at night.
They would also establish setback standards of 10 times the turbine height, so a 500-foot turbine, for example, would have to be 5,000 feet from the nearest residence or property line.
Stephen Ambrose, a sound expert who spoke at a PSB technical workshop in Montpelier, said the proposed standards surprised a lot of people when they were released.
"I've been working at this almost six years,…

LD 1342, scheduled for a work session by the EUT Committee on May 10th at 10:AM. I have been informed that this is a technical bill, but I am suspicious. For those who live in the unorganized territories, do you think this bill will give you fair consideration? Will this compromise the current 8 mile view shed? Will this allow transmission lines anywhere in the expedited wind zone?…

Where is the truth here? Why would it be a mistake for Maine not to do this? The power won't be staying in Maine according to words out of U Maine's Jake Ward's mouth - The power is going right to the Emera's Atlantic link, a new underwater transmission line from New Brunswick to Plymouth, Mass. It would be helpful for Mainers to have all the facts - including the cost of this project and the cost of the energy as well as where the power will go so we- and the Maine legislature - can make…

The Vermont Legislature and the Vermont Public Service Board created Efficiency Vermont in 1999. The following year, it began offering services to help reduce energy costs for Vermonters and protect the environment.
Prior to 2000, those services were delivered by Vermont’s 20-plus electric utilities, and the cost was built into the overall utility rates. The city of Burlington, which has a long-standing and successful efficiency program,…

Since 1997 the numbers of eagle carcasses from wind energy has grown every year. As of 2016 more than 35,000 eagles have been shipped to the National Eagle Repository near Denver. In 1997 when America had just 1/35th of the installed wind energy we have today, wind energy was already listed as one of the primary sources of the repository’s eagle carcasses.

The EUT Committee held a hearing yesterday on LD1262, a bill to protect Monhegan Island from U Maine's Aqua Ventus offshore wind project. At issue are the rights of the residents of the Island and protecting their tourism and lobstering industries, critical to the island- Oh - And lets not forget protecting the birds! First Wind is the gift that keeps on giving - this time via their spin off company Deepwater Wind. Note that their CEO, Jeffrey Grybowski, was chief of staff for Rhode Island's governor.
Three miles off the coast of Block Island, R.I., the wind farm is currently generating enough electricity to power 2,000 homes, but building the five turbines costed $300 million. That’s roughly $150,000 per household just to build the turbines, not to…

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT
******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********
(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
