Comment Blocking

There have been several times when comments I have made have been "reviewed" and rejected.  I have taken them back and revised them slightly and then they have been posted.  I use Disquis instead of Facebook.  Last week I was replying to a particularly smarmy lib who takes delight in being belittling and nasty.  He has been on for a long time and has always been the same. "Yessah!"  I think you know who I mean.  I contacted the BDN about it…

For all the global warming believers out there

Six years ago, the BBC cited climate scientists in predicting that the Arctic would be ice-free in summer by 2013.

Instead, Arctic ice this August covered nearly a million more square miles of ocean than in August 2012 — an increase of 60 percent.

This has led Britain's Mail on Sunday to report: "Some eminent scientists now believe the world is heading for a period of cooling that will not end until the middle of the century — a process that would expose computer forecasts of…

I Wonder How Much Our Rates Will Go Up With This Project?

A $2 Billion electric line from Canada to Massachusetts by Emera and Bangor Hydro.  With the $1.4 Billion grid upgrades costing us 12.5% and 19% already, I guess this will be another increase for us.  Why can't they just leave us alone?…

I Think This Qualifies As GOOD NEWS!!!!

It looks like Danish wind turbine company, Vestas, is cutting back operations here in the USA.  Read below.

A Reply to Charles Colgan's Energy Article in BDN

I sent this to the BDN for publishing as an OpEd.  Will see if it gets printed.

A Reply to Charles Colgan and his “Cheap, Dirty Coal” Article

What really scares me is having an economist like Charles Colgan teach our young people economic theory.  He is completely antithetical to solid economic reasoning, something that most of the liberal economists continue to try and push down our throats.  He believes that imposing onerous taxes and fees on certain…

The Wind Scam In California and Hypocracy

I just got back from a trip to Southern California.  We have a real issue here in Maine with wind, but when you see the ugly mess they have made out there, I guess we should consider ourselves lucky.  Turbines in Maine are spaced every few thousand feet . . . out there the turbines are spaced just far enough apart that the blades wont hit when they spin, and they cover miles and miles and thousands of acres.  This is a fairly industrial area and is not all that beautiful to begin with, but…

Grand Lake Pictures

I just looked at Bill Beavers' post of the pictures of what Grand Lake will look with wind turbines.  While those pictures show what everyone knows will happen, the truly sad picture is when the sun goes down and the flashing red lights on the towers, and the white strobes on the control towers destroy the dark-sky viewing of our universe.  For those of you who have not had that experience, take a ride to the Lincoln Lakes area at night and see what I am talking about.  There are pictures…

Another Green Boondoggle

When the wind blows too hard, and there is not enough draw on the grid, the turbines have to be shut down.  That means that the wind producers can't make money, and they now are being PAID to shut down their turbines.  You just can't make this stuff up.  How inefficient!!!!!  How STUPID!!!!  What a waste.

14,000 Wind Turbines Abandoned in USA

There are currently more than 14,000 wind turbines that have been ABANDONED asross the USA.  I hope this is not the future of Maine.  With the subsidies likely being pulled at the end of this year, who is going to have to pay for removing the towers that have already been put up?  They needed 15 years to fund the removal costs according to Maine Law.  We are not there yet, but it is something to think about.  …

Excellent Synopsis of Wind Throughout the World

The following article outlines some of the best information regarding the Wind Industry throughout the world.  I think it is imperative we know all the facts, and where to find data to back them up.  It is quite a read, but well worth it.…

PPH/MST Re: Angus King defends his Wind Career

This may or may not be posted as a comment in the paper.  They are screening and it is "awaiting Moderation".

I don't begrudge anyone from starting up a new business that they think might improve the quality of life, create jobs, make a profit, improve technology nad make Maine a leader. But Industrial Wind does nothing of those things. Gov. King's own words prove it. "I didn't see how I could credibly talk about energy in Maine (as a Senate candidate) while I was in a…

Angus King Pickpocketed Us!

Another angle on the fraud and theft Angus and Chellie and Obma have done to us.  It's time to speak out and expose it.

It’s Time To Call Out The Pretenders

It’s time to call out the pretenders.  The article attached to this blog tells us it is time to start asking some deep questions about the alarmists that have an agenda.  The agenda is that gaining control over our economies is a factor of making energy so precious that the governments have to take control of them.  They have to set up agency upon agency to regulate the way we do business, and make it so expensive that no one can build a business to employ citizens, pay taxes, and build…

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
