I'm not sure where all the facts that this article throws out there came from, but I know not one of them to be true.

The Pres gave a speech in Las Vegas at the National Clean Energy Summit and threw out a bunch of pure fiction.  Read it and see if you can't poke a few holes in it.

Governor of Maine Implores Legislature to Help Trim Power Prices

Honestly, nothing more need be said beyond the Headline.  The Legislature is dragging their feet and having trouble seeing that wind is not working, and is driving rates up and businesses and jobs out.  This is not just economic theory, but is economic FACT.  How can the people we elected be so obtuse?  (I love Shawshank Redemption)…

This may be good news, but somehow Emera is going to keep pressing,

The staff for The PUC has made the recommendation that Emera NOT build the new transmission line through the County.  Building it would cost every Maine average ratepayer $34.07 a year more in transmission fees and would further drive more businesses out of the state.  Emera has not given up yet, but this is a step in the right direction.  No more rubber stamps for wind power.  …

Thanks to Arthur Quenk for this VERY infomative piece on the true cost of energy and share of subsidies.

I wish all the legislators and congresspeople would read these and believe what they say.  It is VERY revealing.

WOW! This guy hits every nail square on the head. Why aren't these guys running our energy policy?

Mark W. Anderson, a 35 year professor of economics at U Maine has figured out the real economics behind the "Renewable" energy policies we have been led to believe are going to save our country.  This is one of the first academics I have heard tell the real truth.  …

They are thinking that Offshore Wind might still make it in Maine.

They are thinking that Offshore Wind might still make it in Maine.  That is after all the other three that were chosen over Maine failed because they could not make electricity economically enough to get contracts from distribution companies.  The Windies just won't give up their quest to reap government money whether or not it helps the environment and how much it really hurts the economy.…

Another Government Energy Official falls into a lucrative job at one of the big companies (Sun Edison). Imagine THAT!

The amount of interplay among the officials looking after the citizens and the big businesses they are regulating isn't limited to Maine.  Massachusetts Clean Energy Center CEO Alicia Barton has jumped ship for greener pastures at Sun Edison.  Read below…

Patriot Renwewables trying to push around the citizens of Dixfield area and ignore their concerns about noise levels.

Dixfield area residents have made it clear they don't want wind turbines that make more noise at night than 35 decibels.  Patriot Renewables says it is not feasible to build turbines like that so they are pushing to get the levels raised.  DON'T DO IT DIXFIELD!!!!!  YOU WON'T BE HAPPY.  Keep the Colonel Holman Mountain Ridge pristine!…

The Western US is facing a problem. Low winds are making wind very costly.

Shifting wind patterns in the Western US are making it hard for the wind producers to take advantage of the PTC.  The grids are being forced to go to other more reliable fuels.

Governor LePage is beating the energy drum again. But it seems so futile with the legislature.

His weekly radio address is telling the facts of the failed energy policy of the last forty years here in Maine.  Why is it so hard for the legislature to vote for the good of the State and the people?  It is the lies they have been fed for all that time.

European Wind Manufactures Having a Banner Year . . . . At OUR Expense!!

Wind Development is up a huge amount this year from last, and the boom has to be done quickly as the PTC will expire at the end of next year.  I can only hope that we will get it stopped at that point, or we will be supporting overseas companies to our detriment.  …

More drivel from George Smith, that great scientist bought off with Wind Money

Our old friend George Smith has published again.  He is touting the Warming Headlines and the non-scientists.  The people he thinks are great are the financial people who are raking in money hand over fist on the backs of the common citizen and ratepayer.  He is part of the problem why business is deserting Maine and leaving it to the devastating Wind Machines which will eventually drive the tourist trade from our borders.…

This pretty much tells the story of how we in Maine are being pulled and pushed

What’s at stake in Maine’s power struggle over energy?

The BDN published an op ed today that is worth reading.  I heard the interview with Gov. LePage on the radio and am firmly in his corner over what has to happen in Maine.  Businesses are exiting the state in record numbers because of the high prices of electricity.  As he said at the end of the interview about our legislators, “Many of them will ignore it until the last company [in Maine] turns the lights…

I sure hope Aroostook County can see the forest for the trees. This is a big Con.

Number Nine is out bribing the County to get the permits through for the biggest industrial wind facility in the New England market.  It will despoil the hills of the County and send all the power to Connecticut, again using Maine when she really does not need the help.  There will be fewer than 10 permanent jobs created and thousands of citizens lives and pocketbooks disrupted.  I hope Aroostook County can see through the ruse.  …

EPA Goes After Coal Generating States in Final Carbon Plan Instead Pushing Wind and Solar

The 2016 budget calls for an end to coal fired electricity and substituting instead Wind and Solar.  This is an extremely expensive way to provide needed capacity and makes electricity extremely expensive for both business and households.  Even the EPA says this will not help the CO2  levels in any way, only cause more jobs to be sent overseas and to states where nuclear and hydro keep the price of electricity down.  Even Gas is a better alternative to renewables.  Read…

We have known this about Wind for Years. Why are the FERC "Experts" just addressing it?

One of the facts about wind production here in Maine is that it is inconsistent and not suitable for inclusion in a grid that is perfectly designed for gas, hydro or biofuel production.  We have known this and have spoken out about it for years.  FERC is just now making a case for the problem.…

Looks Like More Rate Increases to Come!!!

Emera and CMP are scheming to build more lines to beef up their grid for wind, which will in turn raise our rates again.  Our rates go up so citizens of NY and Connecticut can get power from our windmills.  Maine already has the highests rates in the nation for power, why not make it more!…

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
