Rural America doesn’t want to become America’s power plant

Donald Trump was in Iowa recently, and issued a Trumpism critical of wind power.  The media jumped on its propaganda pony to point out that Iowa loves wind, and gets 36.6% of its energy from wind.  The story was that Trump was a lone critical voice and that Iowans are happy to reap wind profits and jobs and nobody minds becoming America’s power house.  That’s just not true, according to the op ed.  There is serious resistance to industrial wind in Iowa and other rural states.  I already know…

A Strange Dichotomy!!! Officials question climate change while praising carbon cuts

The Administration is taking a kind of unusual approach to the Climate Change issue and CO2 emissions, and I happen to think it is a good one. It is what I have been saying all along, that CO2 does NOT seem to be the driver of Climate Change, but cutting it is not a BAD thing. Over the last 20 years, we have done exactly that, and we don't intend to change horses mid stream now. But the question is, what economically produced power can we rely on for the next 100 years? That is what the EPA…

China Putting Us To Shame?? Fake Energy News That Just Keeps On Being Published. Criminal!

Again, our President is being targeted for his withdrawal from the Paris Accord by touting how the Chinese are beating us in cutting CO2 emissions and making the world cleaner. They are telling us that in one region, FIVE million people lived off wind, solar and hydro power for seven whole days. Wind and solar made up 20% of it and hydro the rest. 5 million people out of a population of 1.4 BILLION. What an unbelievable achievement!

China has not made any progress in cutting their…

Something New To Think About . . . Offshore Wind Turbine May Have Killed Young Whale

We all know what Wind Turbines do to birds and bats. We know what the sounds do to people that live near them with high pitched and infrasounds. Now there is another species that may be endangered, the darling of Greenpeace and all environmentals, something even more sacred than Polar Bears.

A new study is being started after multiple strandings by enormous humpback whales off the coast where new installations of offshore wind turbines have been placed. While here on land, the sounds…

Wind Power’s Future in U.S. Could Be Thwarted by Grassroots Opposition

The luster is coming off wind power as an economically viable, environmentally friendly, community-friendly source of America’s energy future—and for some very good reasons. To start, rural residents across America are increasingly rejecting the encroachment of wind-energy projects in their communities whenever they get a chance to voice their opinions in local ballots.…

Governor LePage to meet with President Trump on energy issues

LePage has made energy costs a key platform of his administration as he repeatedly suggests that high energy prices are squelching economic development in Maine. He has pushed the federal government to loosen regulations on smaller hydropower projects but has been an active opponent of policies aimed at encouraging development of other types of renewable energy in Maine, especially wind and solar power. Critics contend that LePage’s positions on renewable energy are suppressing job growth in…

Mainebiz Wind Article Completely Ignores the Countless Negatives of Wind Power

Paul Williamson, a Portland-based development manager with Apex Clean Energy, of Charlottesville, Va., has similar frustrations. "The biggest issue with permitting is that there's a fair amount of subjectivity in the process. That makes it difficult for the developer."....................."When we talk about support from the state government, we're not looking for subsidies or financial support," Williamson says. "We're specifically looking for that ability to permit projects and solve…

Gravitational pull from from wind turbine towers

This site is sorta like the show "America's Most Wanted" because it keeps a spotlight on criminal dirtbags.

Now to the story..........A number of studies have been conducted on the subject of wind turbine blade or blade fragment throw.

Blade or Blade Fragment Throw.........

Blade throw—the loss of a blade due to hub failure—is an uncommon occurrence in wind energy projects, but blade or rotor failure can occur due to extremely high winds, excess rotor speed or from…

BIRD ALERT: Application of Atlantic Wind LLC for a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility

Ex-Gov of Maine John Baldacci became vice chairman of Avangrid, whicich owns Atlantic Wind LLC, in December 2015 and it was never reported by the Maine media. The ex-Gov and creator of Maine's heinous expedited wind law becomes vice chair of the nation's 2nd largest wind company and the media refuse to report this.

Sweden: Tesla Car Batteries Not Remotely Green

The car batteries used in a Tesla generate as much CO2 as driving a gasoline-powered car for eight years. And that’s before they even come off the production line. This news, from a study by the Swedish Environmental Research Institute, will no doubt delight all those U.S. taxpayers who have been forking out billions of dollars to prop up Tesla’s share price having been assured by their government that subsidizing overpriced electric cars represents a vital step towards “combatting climate…

Maine Audubon hires longtime L.L. Bean executive as new director

I wonder if the members of Audubon really know the depth Audubon is into the Wind Industry's pockets.

With the way Andy Beahm describes his absolute wonder and appreciation of the beautiful Maine Wilderness and what it has meant to the way he was brought up and the the way he continues to see it, it is perplexing how he can throw his entire being into an organization like Maine Audubon that has sold its soul to destroying the environment. By accepting huge grants from the wind…

New feature at MasterResource will periodically review important wind-related news

Editor Note: A new feature at MasterResource will periodically review important wind-related news in the US and around the world. For proponents of fuel-neutral, let-the-market-decide energy policy, as well as those opposing industrial wind turbines for environmental reasons, the news is increasingly positive. It should be highlighted and shared to motivate grassroots energy activists. MasterResource is indebted to Lisa Linowes for authoring this new series.…

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
