This post is not meant to be political - I believe Mrs. Clinton is the first presidential candidate to announce her energy Plan to make the US a clean energy super power.

In Scotland, the people are finally getting fed up with the destruction of view and wildlife and rejected a new set of wind turbines. Why is it that our legislators can't see the same destruction? Could it be that they almost all live in the part of the state that have no turbines? Or could it be they are in somebody's pocket? I don't know, but we sure need to get some of the Southern Maine Population up North to see what is really happening. Pictures just don't do it…

This article came out a week or so ago - It is good news for Maine ratepayers - Our new PUC - a lawyer, an engineer, and an economist just might be really good for Maine! There is a reason why power companies are regulated - The are privately held corporations and we are their captives. I for one am getting tired of paying for capital improvements of a private corporations and being told these are for my benefit!…

The Impact of Wind Farm Deforestation on Air Quality and CO2 removal
April 30th, 2013
Introduction
The premise upon which the ‘fast track’ permitting and subsidizing Wind farms was based was the role they played in replacing electricity generated from CO2 emitting power plants with renewable energy from ‘clean’…

A very good argument for doing away with the PTC and put all energy companies on a level playing field. Congressman Mike Pompeo (R-Kansas), makes a passionate plea to end the spending.

Our Direct FuelCell® (DFC®) power plants efficiently convert hydrogen and oxygen into ultra-clean electricity and usable high quality heat suitable for making steam. The hydrogen is obtained from a fuel source such as clean natural gas or renewable biogas, and is reformed within the fuel cell itself. This unique internal reforming technology provides …

Atty Chris Senie delivered for wind turbine victims in Falmouth, MA, and elsewhere by precedent this week. Senie's, "masterful, encyclopedic (yet succinct) presentation", to the town ZBA on behalf of injured citizens is a must read:

At the moment ISO-NE's is using about 15,000 MW of electricity. 35% of that electricity is coming from 4 nuclear generators with a combined capacity of 4000 MW that consistently operate at a 90% capacity factor year after year. On the opposite end of the efficiency spectrum, 104 MW is coming from over 800 MW of installed capacity of wind turbines that occupy over 80 miles of New England's ridges. That has been the story all summer long - the time of peak demand on the…

Liars , Deceivers, Snake Oil Salesmen and the deceptive business practices of the Wind Industry will haunt this low feeding subsidy scam in Maine from now on.
The facts are being synthesized by Mainers from earlier failed projects in the state.
After the facts are known , the answer to the " industry" is simple, JUST SAY "NO", loudly and forcefully.
Reduced property value, Noise impacts well beyond 1 mile, loss of…

Great news from the heart of vast Aroostook County, Maine. By a 4-1 vote, the Town Council of Fort Fairfield has adopted an incredibly well researched and comprehensive wind power ordinance. The key is the setback requirement for turbine siting of one mile from the property lines of non-participating property owners. This compares to the "State Model" (written by the wind…

It is not freedom of speech when hundreds of my fact filled comments are being deleted from wind energy articles. It is not freedom of speech when my internet activity is being monitored and important information disappears from the internet.
It is also not science or ethical when Scientific American a company affiliated with the textbook publishing (Nature Publishing Group NPG), deletes dozens of my comments with scientific facts for readers pertaining to the wind…

I've been researching out the dynamics of the solar farm craze in Maine and applying it to similar projects involving restored hydropower running micro grids.
I thought it was the glut of solar panels on the market which is producing the marketing frenzy, and making solar more affordable; but it's also the financing schemes which depend heavily on tax credits and subsidies.
The individual shareholder apparently signs over their carbon credits, etc. to the…

In response to Public Law 2015, Chapter 265 “An Act to Improve Regulatory Consistency within the Jurisdiction of the Maine Land Use Planning Commission,” the LUPC announces a new web page that describes the petition process to remove areas from the expedited permitting area for wind energy development. The site also allows interested individuals to self-subscribe to an email notice list.…

There are many organizations claiming that without the PTC being extended, thousands of jobs will be lost and millions of homes will go without power. Why can't the real truth be told?

ISO-NE is boosting the proposal that we need more improvements to our transmission grid. Maine has an existing grid that will sustain us for the next thirty years. We don't expect population growth, certainly can't predict business growth and we produce more electricity, (cleaner than all but one other state in the union) than we use, even on our worst day. All the devastation done to Maine is for those other states surrounding us. It is time we speak for ourselves.
Gas pipelines,…

Here is something for the people of Maine to investigate and expose, the underworld carbon credit market going on behind wind projects. It is rarely talked or written about but wind projects generate "Verified Emissions Reduction credits (VER's) for their developers. These credits are used as non compliance get out of jail free passes for polluting industries.
Even though wind projects help to destroy protected bird populations across North America and impacts are fraudulently…

Back in May, Paula Moore wrote this piece in the BDN. It is more relevant today than ever after what happened to the grid last week.

******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********
(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
