AUGUSTA, Maine — Central Maine Power is urging customers to be wary of door-to-door energy sales people who may be misrepresenting themselves as CMP employees.

According to CMP,  the company has been receiving many customer complaints about the supplier’s salespeople misrepresenting themselves as working for, or on behalf of CMP, demanding to see copies of customers’ CMP bills, and for providing false and misleading information about energy prices.

The 2016 budget calls for an end to coal fired electricity and substituting instead Wind and Solar.  This is an extremely expensive way to provide needed capacity and makes electricity extremely expensive for both business and households.  Even the EPA says this will not help the CO2  levels in any way, only cause more jobs to be sent overseas and to states where nuclear and hydro keep the price of electricity down.  Even Gas is a better alternative to renewables.  Read…
