Net Energy Billing, Maine Lawmakers Attempt to Fool All the People, All of the Time.

Net Energy Billing is perhaps the most contested and controversial program ever to impact the electricity customers of Maine.
The Legislature has expanded NEB so now it is incredibly expensive to the 86% of Maine residential customers who wish not to participate but know damn well they are paying for something that is arguably UNCONSTITUTIONAL!!

Net Energy Billing goes way back. In a report by the PUC, January 15,2009…

UNACCEPTABLE: Current House discussions would preserve around $600 billion of the IRA’s green energy subsidies

February 08, 2025

House Republicans could be leaving hundreds of billions of dollars in potential savings on the table as the GOP conference works to finish a budget deal to extend expiring tax cuts and cut spending, according to one conservative House lawmaker.

Republican Oklahoma Rep. Josh Brecheen, a member of the House Freedom Caucus who sits on the House Budget Committee, said House Republicans should…

Blue states hope their clean energy plans withstand collision with Trump

An article from the self appointed "green" side:

“We’re not going to do the wind thing,” Trump said during a rally for supporters shortly after he was sworn in on Jan. 20...................

.....................“These actions are sowing a lot of chaos,” said Patrick Drupp, director of climate policy with the Sierra Club, a national environmental advocacy group. “The longer that goes on, the more likely projects go away. If developers start pulling back from…

Congress to Investigate 9/11, Covid Origins, JFK, RFK, MLK, Epstein, and More

This is a start. But what former Congressman Weldon says (as a dead minimum) is imperative:

“I applaud Anna Paulina Luna and the chairman of the committee for taking this step, because these disasters that they’re focusing on all need to be exposed,” Weldon said in an interview.

“But I want more than that. I want a presidential commission. They have multiple things they are looking…

"Time of Use" Electricity Pricing Means Getting Out of Bed Earlier, Getting the Electricity Humming Earlier, and Paying a Bigger Monthly Bill.

What a dilemma.

The Maine PUC wants us to go "time of use" so we will change of behavior.

These cold mornings are causing the daily peak price of electricity to occur at 7:00 am as heat setting are turned back up as we awaken.

Now, you have to get to work, so getting up later to avoid the peak price is not an option, so you must get up earlier, but you, nevertheless, are going to turn up the thermostat because it is cold.

Now the peak load happens earlier and…

Do You Know What is Really Disgusting About Wind and Solar Developments?

What is truly disgusting is during this week's long cold spell, wind and solar developments can bid into the New England wholesale electricity supply market at low or zero prices because of taxpayer and ratepayer subsidies granted by the government  and then receive the price normally set by dispatchable natural gas fueled generators. During this cold spell wholesale prices have exceeded $100 per megawatt hour for every…

New U.S. Energy Secty Makes Unleashing Nuclear Power Priority for American Energy Abundance

I like nuclear but don't like the "all of the above" energy strategy mentioned. Hopefully there are plans to stop all wind, not just offshore. A useless source is a useless source.

The GREEN DREAM is Over Guvnah' Mills, Get Maine's Economy Going With Federal Energy Policy or Forever Be Left Behind

Unless Maine's Authoritarian Governor gets with the times and stops following the corrupt NGO's like NRCM ,Sierra Club  etc. (with their  GREEN Subsidized Scam Dreams which have now ended) and  rejects undo-able low power density  Wind and Solar Subsidized  Scamming , Maine will remain 50th in the nation in many things. Feeding the elitists dream of driving their EV to  a Mt. Katahdin  day hike  and then  back  to Augusta on one charge of their  Tesla is just not going to…

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
