Governor Mills is at it again. With all the shortfalls in government funding facing Maine in the age of Covid, Janet has decided this is the time to put turbines in the ocean 20 - 40 miles offshore in an experiment to see if they are viable. She is supposedly partnering with the fishing industry to try this. They have no idea of the cost of this folly, the impact to the fishing industry, the impact to the shipping lanes that are roughly in this corridor, whether they can even sell the energy for a reasonable price, what maintenance costs will be, whether floating turbines are even viable this far offshore, etc, etc.
This is also being floated (sic) by the University of Maine and their loco crew. I am horrified that this is even being brought up at this point. We have been shielded for the last four years from this lunacy, but with things like they are now . . . . we all know what that means . . . . get ready for the onslaught of more of these plans.
