A wind developer contemplating a project in New York laments that the project must be put on hold due to electrical power prices currently at an all-time low because of oversupply of natural gas. See www.windaction.org “Galloo Island Wind Farm "on hold" for at least six months; low price of electricity cited “
At some point, the electricity produced from wind has to enter the market and is subject to the current market price. Sometimes, the…

When I came across this quote, I couldn't help but think of Stantec, Sewall Co. Kleinschmidt and all the engineers hired by CMP trying to make a transmission fit for wind :
“No engineer could, or would, join [a government funded bound rubber band electricity generation plant].” Would that this were true, Mr. Hails. Given what I’ve seen, engineers would join with economists in a New York minute, putting grand make work on display with their shoulders to the wheel of making the…

The Maine Public Utilities Commission ( Overseers of electric rates in Maine ) must be having one of those “ If we only knew then what we know now “ moments . In 2009, the PUC mandated a contract between a wind turbine project owner in Lincoln, Maine and Central Maine Power and Bangor-Hydro. An article from the Lewiston Sun Journal appearing in April 2010 states “The 20-year contract between Rollins’ owner, First Wind, and CMP and Bangor Hydro Electric Co. was hammered out by the Maine…

"In EIA’s Annual Energy Outlook 2011, wind’s generation in 2030 is projected to be 159 billion kilowatt hours, about 70 percent higher than wind generation in 2010, but still a mere 3.2 percent share of generation. In EIA’s recent analysis evaluating an 80 percent clean energy standard by 2050, wind generation nearly doubles from the agency’s prediction in the Annual Energy Outlook by 2035. But an almost doubling in wind generation only provides a 6.3 percent share. EIA’s analysis of a 25…

NORWOOD — Massachusetts
In a move toward energy efficiency, the Board of Selectmen, working as the town’s light commissioners, voted on Tuesday, May 25, to buy 17 percent of Spruce Mountain Wind Project’s electricity output.
“It’s a good move for the town to buy into the ‘green’ (energy) at a reasonable cost,” Selectman Bill Plasko said.
The electricity from Maine-based Spruce Mountain Wind Project makes up about 3 percent of the Norwood Light…

First, they had problems finding an avenue of transmission for their Stetson project. It was resolved, but required some expensive people to convince some other expensive people. Then they had problems selling Rollins Wind Project output through CMP and Bangor Hydro. Resolved with help from the Maine PUC and the Renewable Portfolio Law. Then, they encountered problems convincing Rumford residents that they were the second coming of salvation. They left.
Now, they have problems with LURC and…

"DiMasi business ties questioned: His killing of bill benefited friend"
By Frank Phillips, (Boston) Globe Staff, May 1, 2008
Just months after House Speaker Salvatore F. DiMasi killed a bill that was designed to block a controversial liquefied natural gas project from being built on 73 acres in Fall River, the landowner,
Jay Cashman, sold the property to the terminal developers and made a $14.2 million profit, according to a Globe review of real estate and…

To those who would want to change the scenery of Maine with their monstrous wind machines, Please take the time to read the Comprehensive Plans adopted by many communities throughout the rural part of this State. Almost every Comprehensive Plan recognizes the physical assets of local geographic features. Many allude to the beauty of mountainous views even as municipal congestion takes place below these same mountains.
Then, take note, that the unorganized territories became…

I must say, Iberdrola Renewable’s presentation in Bingham last week was a learning session for me. There’s obviously magic in them windmills. When I asked one man, proudly standing by with a colorful chart displaying a 10 mile per hour wind velocity differential between the high point of a particular blade tip to the low point of a particular blade tip, wouldn’t the differential wind forces set up by this cause imbalance at the rotor. He explained that the wind machine has properties…

Should wind developers be paid for electricity when conditions within the grid forces them to stop production ? A recent revelation: "Approximately 25 TWh (yes, 25 terawatt-hours) of wind energy was curtailed (idled) in the U.S. last year to keep the off-peak grid energy price from frequently going negative. That is about equal to the energy in 700 million gallons of gasoline just being thrown away.…

I feel it is imperative we reach all the people we can from area towns and alert them to this upcoming event. I have received assurance from one of our area state representatives that they will attend.
If we can keep our story(ies) in the spotlight, by the press, by the facebook, by the numerous websites from now to March 10th, this will definitely exceed the rally we had in Dixfield with our last forum. Dixfield is right in the center of all these projects. Patriots is getting…

Now, here is the DEP response to the fact that the turbines in Mars Hill have exceeded rule limits :
This 2 dBA exceedance is within what is an imperceptible change in noise level to the average person. These findings above the 50 dBA limit are a minor deviation from the compliance standard
We heard from the same DEP at the Woodstock appeal that sound modeling included an additional 3dBa to model calculations. One commissioner asked how to quantify this and was told 3dBa was…

After hearing testimony ( testimony is a solemn attestation as to the truth of a matter.) regarding a friend suffering a heart attack attributable to wind mills near his home, how can anyone with any semblance of connection to human welfare so callously show such disregard .Is it really happening or just a nightmare.

Wind developers love to engage in conversation about the mechanical aspects of turbines which steers people away from the truth about how utterly useless they are at grid scale . Even bad ideas can bring wealth to the game players, ( developers, a few landowners and money hungry town governments ) but this money has to come from somewhere and at some cost. The money comes from the taxpayers and the ratepayers ( you and I ) . the cost is loss of economic engine as wind forces aside the…
