Wind PTC Opponent Fiscal Hawk to Head Office of Management and Budget

Since arriving in Congress as part of the Republican Tea Party wave elected in 2010, Mick Mulvaney has been one of the most pugilistic advocates for cutting government spending.

“We are going to do great things for the American people with Mick Mulvaney,” Trump said Saturday in an e-mailed statement. “Right now we are nearly $20 trillion in debt, but Mick is a very high-energy leader with deep convictions for how to responsibly manage our nation’s finances and save our country from…

Wind Energy is a loser and your energy providers all know it

Corporate interests are robbing taxpayers and allowing wind turbines to kill as many as 4,200 bald eagles and 2,000 golden eagles annually "without prosecution," is a perfect example of our completely corrupted government. Wind energy is a loser except for providing profits and all energy providers know this is a 100 % true statement.  The numbers for this pie chart will be released soon.…

PPH Suggests Efficacy of Grid Scale Electricity Storage for Wind

"One obstacle to integrating large solar and wind projects is that operators need to constantly account for cloudy periods or sudden drops or surges in wind speed. Storing the output from solar and wind power in batteries can smooth those ups and downs....."…

Green is much more than a color

As seen by the recent rigged decision to allow thousands of eagles to be killed annually by the wind industry, green is much more than a color.                                                                                                                  Destroying ecosystems with wind energy developments and slaughtering off rare and endangered species is…

Why Are We Worried About A Few Measly Degrees of Warming?

NASA has made a dire prediction we are doomed.  Kind of sounds like Global Warming, huh?  Looks like another fear mongered government boondoggle to go spend a lot of unneeded dollars on.

Two Letters today on having Senator Collins fight the battle for Trump's appointments to EPA, Energy and Secy of State.  I'm not sure she really has to be told that, as she votes with the Dems alot.  Just waiting to see if they post my Letter about killing Eagles.  They have not even referenced that regulation was signed.  Anyone taking bets?…

Final wind-turbine rule permits thousands of eagle deaths

Griffon-vultures-Navarre-Spain.jpeg (279×413)

New rules by the EPA and Fish and Wildlife have allowed wind farms to kill birds for the next 30 years.  "The new rule will conserve eagles while also spurring development of a pollution-free energy source intended to ease global warming, a cornerstone of President Barack Obama’s energy plan, said Fish and Wildlife Service Director Dan Ashe."  How exactly does that…

First Offshore Commercial Wind Farm Starts up in Rhode Island

BlockIsland-LastTurbine_DeepwaterWind

Deepwater Wind has started operation of its five turbine 30 MW installation off the coast of Block Island.  As I read the article, I noticed they are selling the power to the installer of the 20 mile underwater cable, National Grid, for 24 cents a kwh to go up 3.5% annually for 20 years.  Anyone out there think this is a good price?  I think our Emera prices are in the 6-8 cents kwh right now, at least according to my bill.  At a rate of increase for 20…

Election Day was bleak for the future of ridgeline wind power in Vermont

The outcome of local, state and national voting signaled a vote of no confidence in the growth of utility-scale wind power in the Green Mountain State......

Unimpressed by the 2016 Vermont Legislature's conditional gift of slightly more say in the energy siting process, municipalities are now bypassing Montpelier. If this trend of "permission by referendum" continues, towns will have carved out a local veto power for themselves over ridgeline wind development. A new precedent is being…

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
