World’s Largest Floating Solar Power Plant Wrecked by Storm Just Before Grand Launch (VIDEO)

The world’s largest floating solar power plant, located at Omkareshwar Dam in Madhya Pradesh, India, was obliterated by a storm on April 9, 2024. , just days before its scheduled grand inauguration.

The ambitious project faced the wrath of nature as strong winds reaching speeds of up to about 31 miles per hour tore through the installation, uprooting and severely damaging the high-tech solar panels that floated on the reservoir of the dam.

This floating solar plant claimed to be the largest globally, represents a joint venture between the Madhya Pradesh Government and the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC), according to Lokmat Times.

“Omkareshwar Dam is built on the Narmada river. This is our hydro electric plant project and in this, we produce energy from water, but it is spread over about 100 square kilometers [38.6 square miles], there is a very large water body where the water level remains normal,” saidSanjay Dubey, Renewable Energy Department Principal Secretary.

A 600 MW floating solar project , about 150 acres of panels, promised to significantly bolster the power generation capacity of the state.

However, this ambitious project costing at least $2 billion, including expanding/reinforcing the grid, ended in a spectacular failure. We should have checked historic weather reports, regarding high winds

The project was supposed to be the world’s largest floating solar PV plant, but instead, it’s become a stark reminder of the limits of renewable energy and the dangers of prioritizing grand ambitions over practical realities.

Plants require require at least 1000 to 1200 ppm of CO2, as proven in greenhouses
Many plants have become extinct, along with the fauna they supported, due to a lack of CO2
As a result, many areas of the world became arid and deserts.
The current CO2 needs to at least double or triple
Earth temperature increased about 1.2 C since 1900, which is due to many causes, such as fossil CO2, flora CO2, and permafrost methane which converts to CO2.
CO2 emissions of fossil fuels are a blessing.
CO2 has increased from about 296 ppm in 1900 to 423 ppm at end 2023. It:

Winds of 31 mph did this. One wonders what far higher winds in the Gulf of Maine will do to the floating wind turbines planned.
