Is Shasta County really trying to ban large scale wind projects?
Very few people were aware of a meeting that took place to ban large wind energy systems in Shasta County. The meeting took place on April 14th. The meeting was not announced until late in the day on the 11th giving the public just 2 days to comment before the hearing.
On the 13th I submitted an email/letter to the county and it can be seen below.
The meeting ended with a no decision apparently because an attorney threatened to sue the county. The matter will be taken up again on May 12th.
I will be writing another letter for this upcoming meeting.
As for any lawsuits, if developers file one, the industry's research fraud can be fully exposed. There isn't a large scale wind energy project in this country that has submitted credible impact research to any county. So I think if wind energy representatives are stupid enough file a suit against Shasta County, it's a great idea because then the county could seek restitution costs and damages against the plaintiffs.
