Email Response to Rep. Mike Michaud

Here is the email response I sent to Rep. Michaud's office:

US Rep. Michaud. I know one of your staff will read this but I will take this message to the citizens of Dixfield. I received your "generic" mail response to my concerns regarding the PTC and wind turbines. In this "generic" letter it states:

"I understand the concerns some have expressed with wind energy, as it involves placing wind turbines on our pristine Maine coastlines and mountains. These turbines are often noisy and can even harm wildlife. While many studies have proven these risks to be minimal, we must thoroughly investigate all of the potential impacts in advance of developing new sites"

I am disgusted with the fact that you believe it is OK for my family to be subject to ANY harm no matter how minimal you believe it is. The research I have found shows it is not a "minimal" amount of harm.

You also stated "we must thoroughly investigate all of the potential impacts in advance of developing new sites" so my question is, why are you supporting NEW wind projects when there are so many people suffering adverse health affects caused by industrial wind projects in close proximity to residential areas?

It sounds like your political agenda does not include a concern for the health of the citizens in the State of Maine. I know my concerns are voiced by many.

Representative Michaud,

Site Development on Saddleback Ridge in Carthage places 34 "receptors"  who will experience flicker and sounds of 40-45 dbc.

It reads to me like you do not care.

He doesn't get it folks. All these facts we have been putting out on the table have fallen on dead and deaf ears. Who voted for this guy? We are in trouble if he is an indicator of how the whole body of Congress thinks. Remember the Government works for the people, when they stop working for the citizens then it is time people to terminate their positions just like all businesses do without this checks and balance system in place the country would be in worse turmoil just ask Richard Nixon.     Hello----- is there anyone in there,- there,- there

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
