Its hard to tell where to begin with all these lies.

The PPH has written an article touting wind again.  It says 66 gigawatts of wind power has been installed nationwide, which we all know is actually only a quarter of that amount or 17 gigawatts.  They say 66 gigs is about 5% of the total US consumption, but at 25% it is minuscule.  They also say that the average cost of wind is now 2.35 cents per kilowatt hour, but is only like that because of the generous subsidies.  This might be a reply alert.…

The PTC Strikes Again!!!

Colorado is the big benefactor in the extention of the PTC by Congress.  Vestas has built three plants there to make parts for wind turbines.  It is totally built on the backs of taxpayers, as they wwere almost out of business when the PTC expired last year.  Since its 1 year reinstatement, business is booming.…

Sun Edison (First Wind Owner) In trouble with finances.

Sun Edison, who has been on a spending spree buying up smaller wind and solar companies, finds itself in trouble.  $11 BILLION in debt.  Lets hope the subsidies die and we can help them fail even further.  It's about time these greedy subsidy sucking companies get theirs.…

Warren Buffet: "On wind energy, we get a tax credit if we build a lot of wind farms. That's the only reason to build them. They don't make sense without the tax credits."

Article spells out all the reasons we already know to be true.  Very well written and up to date article that any of us can use to make comments on future articles.  Read below…

All This for .01 Degrees Celsius?

Joe Bastardi is a meteorologist writing about the topic of climate change.  You might find this interesting and scientifically relevant to the cause.

Hurray!!! Maybe there is Progress!

I hope this is not just a little stumbling block put out there.  I hope this means someone is finally looking at the real economics of the Green Energy Movement.  There is a good reason Maine is dead last in solar development, it is because during the 8 months a year we really need power, we have little or no sunlight.  It does not take a rocket scientist to figure that out.…

More on Canadian Hydropower

This article is from ISO NE about how we should beware of the boost in Canadian Power.  They cite the fact that transmission lines would have to be run to bring it down from the North.  I think I would rather have continuous, cheap, reliable power run over new transmission lines than towering spinning blades and flashing lights.  ISO NE is completely in the bag for wind.  And our prices will be going up, driving any hope for new business and jobs.  Wind kills jobs, not makes…

How about our Rivers here in Maine? They worked for 150 years.

Now we are being deluged with articles touting the positive green power of Canadian Rivers.  For over a century we powered our mills and homes with Hydro Power, the cleanest and most economical power there is.  There is little or no initial investment, at least not like the kind for solar or wind, and it is extremely reliable, unlike wind and solar.  There is also no fuel investment.  Modern dams can be built to allow the migration of fish to spawning grounds, yet we are tearing them out of…

How does this produce "REAL" employment?

The Number Nine project in Bridgewater is supposed to be a big boost to employment in the County.  There will be 300 TEMPORARY jobs to build the project and the 50 mile spur to hook up to the grid.  As in the past, most of these jobs will be filled from out of state and the 16 PERMANENT jobs will probably only be half filled by locals.  There is $2 million to be distributed to the locals to put in heat pumps and upgrade their homes for heat.  That is a pretty small amount and would only…

With just over 4% of our energy production, how does wind figure into the mix?

More lies from the wind industry to try and trump up their base to get more subsidies.  The writer talks up the wind industry in the southwest and west and says the East coast is not as well suited for wind.  How did Maine get talked in to being the Saudi Arabia of Wind?

We finally have the PUC on our side, and the AG has to get involved. Geeze!!!

AG Janet Mills has thrown a monkey wrench into the decision by the PUC to nix the controversial energy efficiency rule.  I hope this will not spill over into the wind decisions.

If wind energy is ‘strong,’ why does it need subsidies?

The subsidy question just keeps on rolling in DC.  It is really important to write to your Senators and Congresspersons and try and explain why this is a big mistake.  Use all the facts we have on our side. Read below.

Another Precipice to be led to.

I certainly hope the recent ruling on Unorganized Territories will take the lead in fighting this next waste of our money and viewshed.  A Texas company ruining our land and spending our money in another fruitless endeavor of greed, and sending the energy to Connecticut over lines that have not yet been built (which we will have to pay for).  Sigh!…

Finally: A good use for wind . . . . But will the FTC and EPA and Farm Commission let it happen?

It is hard to believe that this lady cleared all the hurdles she must have had to clear to get fresh, not processed, farm products to go from Maine to Boston.  I see this as a step in the right direction in using wind for a greater cause.  …

Another beautiful sight ruined by idiocy and greed

For anyone who ever spent time on the islands off Massachusetts and Rhode Island, fishing and enjoying the good life that has long been a playground for the rich and famous, this is a desecration above all.  The cost and expense of this folly can NEVER be repaid except for the subsidies given out by the lawmakers in Washington and our State Capitols.  No picture taken from hence forth will take away the tears and restore the memories of those trips.…

So now we have to fight Chuck Grassley over biofuels and wind subsidies?

Here is a followup to the post I made earlier in the week.  When are we ever going to get a break?  It is time to write all our Senators and Congreesspersons (PC) and let them know the real truth.  I know we have tried and tried, but this is serious.  Another pork filled bill that redistributes our wealth to the already filthy rich.  It is both parties.  Why can't these guys listen to real science and and economics?…

Let's not make this political, but isn't this direction we should be headed?

While the mission of our CTFWP-M is not political, this is a breath of fresh air from a challenger in the 2016 race.  It will level the playing field for all competitors and certainly make the Wind sector fold up their tent and go home.  There are better alternatives to making electricity especially in Maine.  Let them come forward.

Looks Like the Taxpayer is going to Keep On Paying for Madness!!

Sen Grassley, a Senator who never misses a chance to put Pork on the table, has successfully gotten the Production Tax Credit included for Renewables.  The fat cats at Sun/First Wind can continue to line their pockets at our expense. It should be all but a done deal.  Email your Senators and Congressmen to try and stop it.

Check out Another foreign interloper set up to steal our subsidies and raise our rates.

A Texas company but a subsidiary of a Portugal Company, is looking to put a 250 mw wind facility in the County.  It would be the largest yet in Maine, and at the end would employ perhaps 16 employees.  250 mw at the going rate of 25% would amount to 65 mw total for an investment of $613 million.  That does not include the grid update that the ratepayers have to take care of.  Read the article below.…

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
