After months off intensive, bloody conflict,  Russian forces have liberated the city of Bakhmut. It is estimated that during the fighting Ukrainian losses were in the 50-60,000 range. Bakhmut was the largest fortified area on the Donestk Front. Losing Bakhmut is a severe blow to Ukrainian control of the Eastern Front.
