After months off intensive, bloody conflict,  Russian forces have liberated the city of Bakhmut. It is estimated that during the fighting Ukrainian losses were in the 50-60,000 range. Bakhmut was the largest fortified area on the Donestk Front. Losing Bakhmut is a severe blow to Ukrainian control of the Eastern Front.

Here's the announcement from Colonelcassad's Telegram channel:

Bakhmut (Artyomovsk) is taken!

05/20/2023 today at noon Bakhmut was completely taken

Prigozhin 's statement about the capture of the settlement of Bakhmut by the forces of PMC "Wagner".

Just in time for the anniversary of the liberation of Mariupol.

Russia achieved this with superior artillery lobbing 100-lbs-building-destroying grenades, 24/7

The Ukraine army fortifications were leveled and could not be used for defense, so their forces had to pull back more and more.

Any holdouts, such as diehards and snipers were eventually finished off by Wagner forces.

A bloody mess, for sure

Russia offered settlement terms in March 2022 that were acceptable to Zelenskyy.

All the destruction and lives lost would have been avoided

But, the US/UK wanted to keep on fighting to “weaken” Russia, break it up in easily managed pieces, and eliminate it as a viable partner for China, and then have a much easier time finishing off and isolating China.

Mission Accomplished, except BRISC plus 19 applicants have other goals much more to THEIR liking.

The headline appears to be written from the Russian point of view. Growing up, when Russia was the power center and most powerful entity within the Communist U.S.S.R., it is hard to imagine that we would have ever seen a headline published in an American medium exclaiming Bakhmut Has Fallen! At a minimum, I believe the exclamation mark would not have ended the sentence.

In let's say, the 1960's, a Soviet victory would have represented an advance of the totalitarian Communists. However in 2023, we arguably have many Communist forces swirling within the United States. Things are crazy today, turned inside out. Our former CIA director John Brennan was a member of the Communist party. That is a fact. We see the advance of totalitarianism in the U.S. and many western countries, many once distinguished by their supposed love for freedom. The U.S. Constitution enshrines many freedoms such as free speech and the right to bear arms. But totalitarian forces here seem set on destroying these and many freedoms. Back in the 1960's, some of our biggest criticisms of the U.S.S.R. were that elections were totally rigged and that Pravda and Tass were 100% propagandist lies. I don't know what it's like over there today as frankly, I haven't spent a terrible amount of time researching it. I feel that any mention of modern day Russia, such as the one I am making now, would be remiss without the caveat that "Putin, who came up through the KGB is not a good guy." Whether such a requisite statement is true in an absolute sense may not be debatable. I'm just not so sure that it is as true today in a relative sense when being compared to those in the western world today who appear to be increasingly fond of various totalitarian attributes.

Is the Russia-Ukraine war a war of evil Russia versus the saintly West? Or is it more accurately viewed as a war between a nationalist power (Russia and perhaps plenty evil) and a proxy/coalition representing to at least some degree, the globalism which may be an enemy of American freedoms, right up there with Communist totalitarianism? Things are often not what they seem in this Twilight Zone world where it is increasingly evident to me that those running the U.S. today are real hijackers.

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
