We were fortunate to have Diane Russell removed from the EUT Committee but she is still out there shilling for wind - with any possible rationale!

Although certainly better than what was there before, l see more potential problems with LURC being involved .Whose f...ing state and constitution is it anyway?
That depends on the voice of citizens, too weak and disconnected as of late.
LURC will merely become wind's graft target and whore, and become financially beholden to their scam. That is why the bastards , in the final moments ,tried and succeeded in amending it in…

ISO-NE prepared a forecast in 2011 which outlined several scenarios for wind development in Maine. This picture taken from slides from that report shows what may happen if nothing is done to prevent it. Wind developers will continue to build wind projects, and ratepayers will share the costs of transmission, as long as there are mountains or fields on which to build turbines. The upper left shows potential wind project locations, the upper right shows the transmission needed to support…

By the narrowest of margins, LD 828 gained approval in Maine's House of Representatives. The bill would restore the rights of citizens in the Unorqanized Territories (UTs) to have a say regarding wind power projects. This right was stripped away when the "Wind Law" placed the UTs in the Expedited Permitting Zone classification. Organized towns that are similarly in the expedited zone have the right to withdraw, something denied to citizens in the UTs. It is very clear that the wind…

Score another wind ordinance victory! On Tuesday, June 9, the voters of Dixfield approved a restrictive wind ordinance for their scenic town in Maine's western mountains. The close vote is a culmination of years long local debate and the new ordinance replaces a weaker version. A bad day for Patriot Renewables, which has had its sights on Col. Holman Mt. in Dixfield to add to its Saddleback/Carthage project that is currently under construction and its approved project for Canton Mt. …

Every now & then there is good news from Augusta and yesterday was a great day for opponents of wind power in Maine. The Maine Senate, in spite of heavy lobbying by the Wind Industry that fears economic scrutiny, did the right thing and affirmed the nomination of dr. Bruce Williamson as the newest member of the Maine Public Utilities Committee. See the story here:…

First, let me say I believe we are a nation of laws and I believe it is against the law and morally wrong to destroy someone's property. But the "Wind Law" foisted upon us by Baldacci in 2008 and protected from any change whatsoever by the Democrats who sold out to the Wind Industry is one of the worst pieces of special interest legislation ever enacted. It results in the proliferation of sprawling industrial wind turbines and ruination of Maine's natural and scenic resources.
I am…

The Debate on impact of wind turbines on birds continues because of rigged studies
On June 7th the AP story "Debate on impact of wind turbines on birds continues"was published. Back in April I interviewed with the author of this article Jeremy Thomas for about 3 hours over the phone. This was supposed to be a story that would expose Altamont. It was not and critical…

On page 15 of the " Report of The Governor's Task force on wind power development" one can read the following paragraph;
Confusion over the benefits of wind power development. Wind power displaces
electricity generated from fossil fuels and reduces emissions of atmospheric greenhouse
gases and a variety of other pollutants (SOx, NOx, mercury,…

Read the following graph and then try to figure out why John Baldacci wanted to make Maine a LEADER in wind power development in 2008.

In a surprising turn of events among the Democrats who control The Legislature's Energy Committee (EUT), they reversed their blockage of a vote on the PUC nomination of economist Dr. Bruce Williamson and voted to endorse the nomination by 11-2 margin. Surprising, because the wind industry usually has its way with the Democrats on this committee and they fear the scrutiny of their scam by an economist. This is a great opportunity to do some on-line comments criticizing the economics of wind…

AUGUSTA, Maine — After delaying a vote for a week, the Legislature’s Energy Committee has approved Tennessee economist and nuclear security expert Bruce Williamson for the state’s Public Utilities Commission.
The committee gave Williamson, who was not present, the greenlight in an 11-2 vote on Thursday afternoon. Sen. Dawn Hill, D-York, and Rep. Dean Rykerson, D-Kittery, were the lone opponents to Williamson’s nomination.
The committee courted controversy for a week after…

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
