INVESTIGATORS CONTACTED KING'S WIND COMPANY DAYS BEFORE REPORT RELEASED

http://www.themainewire.com/

While U.S. Senate candidate Angus King was busy discussing the ethical benefits of selling his company, behind the scenes Independence Wind was becoming part of a congressional probe into inappropriate federal loan guarantees.Despite an increasingly tangled timeline, the former governor’s campaign maintains he had no knowledge of the probe.

Congressional investigators sent an official letter to…

U.S. Senate Hopeful Angus King asks "Where's Molly"?

Angus King lectures the unwashed commoner that if we don't allow his feckless wind turbines to destroy our Gardens of Eden in Maine, we are contributing to global warming.

We have of course proven this 100% false. The turbines displace virtually no CO2.

But take a look at Angus's 40" RV that guzzles gas like no other.

Its name is Molly.

But perhaps a better name would be the "Do…

BREAKING NEWS...Decision by Maine Superior Court pleases wind turbine farm neighbors on Vinalhaven

3/23/12

Today, Maine Superior Court ruled in favor of neighbors and against the state DEP and wind turbine operator, Fox Islands Wind. The state agency and FIW seek to invalidate a lengthy and costly effort by neighbors to obtain regulatory enforcement of state noise standards in the case of violations by the wind turbine farm operator on Vinahaven. The Court…

The Untold Story of Record Hill Wind, continued

In view of Angus King's intention to seek election to the US Senate, and in light of recent revelations about the lack of justification for the Federal Loan Guarantee that Record Hill Wind sought and was granted,  I am reposting (1) the following blog post as well as (2) my comment to the DOE during the public comment period on the loan application, and (3) the relevant section of the report titled,…

DEVELOPING: U.S. SENATE HOPEFUL ANGUS KING WIND PROJECT CITED BY CONGRESSIONAL INVESTIGATION

I wonder whether this will also finally get some sunlight on the mysterious Delaware registered highly secretive partner of King's in this deal - "Bayroot", perhaps named after the college drinking game of same name. Of course that just might make sense as after a couple years or so it was finally revealed who this company was - the ultra well endowed Yale University Endowment Fund.…

Dixfield - 2 Selectmen Terms to Expire

Just a quick note: In the Lewiston Sun Journal there was a short article on nominations. I found out that 2 selectmen, Steve Donahue and Norrine Clark's terms are set to expire.

Therefore, I went right to the town office and took out papers and will be running for one of these seats. I only need 25 signatures for the nomination papers, which will not be a problem. Wish me luck.

UMPI website reports it's working.

As of March 15 the UMPI turbine website reported the turbine, after a "down" period of months for repair,  had been generating power for 126 days;  "180,240 kWh since 2nd week of November".  There is no other information - the software needs "fine tuning",

Operating perfectly in ideal wind  the UMPI turbine is "rated" to  generate 600 kW, or 14,400 kWh per day

It has been in operation 126 days since early November.

14,400 kwh X 126 = 1,814,400 kwh. This woud be 100%…

Frozen in Place - Woodstock Turbines Dead Still Today

As I travelled West on Route 2 in Dixfield just before the center of town, I looked to my left at the Woodstock wind project and low and behold not a single turbine was spinning. Proof positive of the absolute inefficiency of these abberations.

"The 28 Year Wind Industry Cover-Up"

March 14, 2012 (San Diego’s East County)--A recent study from Spain estimates bird mortality to be 6-18 million birds and bats annually from their 18,000 installed wind turbines with an installed capacity of 20,676 MW. This works out to a staggering total of 333-1000 birds and bats per turbine or 290-871 mortalities per MW for wind energy in Spain. In…

Fully pre-funded decommissioning one step closer to being tested.

With  Congress' non-renewal of the PTC yesterday,  Maine's industrial wind turbines will be even less likely to manage to survive financially. When the turbines cease to generate and sell power, they are required by their Permits to be decomissioned.  Then we will learn the validity of the fully pre-funded financing arrangements that have been made for removal of the monstrosities and restoration of the site to its original condiiton.  The permitting authorities have accepted highly…

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
