MORE INFORMATION ON THE DESTRUCTION OF THE KATHADIN AREA BY FIRST WIND

  •  There is a  report  called the  Dodge Report which is what the state puts out for construction companies to keep track of construction work coming up in the state so union and nonunion groups can bid on jobs.  All this is public information, but you need to pay to access this particular database.  http://dodgeprojects.construction.com/?utm_content=3008317509&u...

  •  There is a map of where the proposed turbines would go.  What we have is a map with one dot on it in Medway, ME.  There is a Gantt Chart showing the project cycle.   There is also a project proposal including the project scope, names, dates, and cost.
    • 63 2.3 MW Wind Turbine Generator Sets

REQUIRE ALL THESE COMPANYS that DEVELOP Wind Power  Turbines to Post a $5,000,000 DECOMMISSIONING Bond to Make CERTAIN that the Towers Will be REmoved and the site RECLAIMED!

They MUST File RECLAMATION PLAN that MUST Be approved BEFORE Anything else can be done!

Thank you Monique

Interesting thing about the PPA. ..in the hearing between FERC and Iso New England, it was stated that there is a bottleneck in Orrington and no power can go south from there. Even if Maine did build new transmission lines, power  would not get to Conn. NH balked at "upgrades." Former Gov. Blumenthal of Conn., now their senator stated that he would not build new transmission lines for a few wind farms in upper state NY. So, it is very strange how they can say they are going to get power from ME. Very similar to Harvard University buying power from Stetson II. Guess they still were listening to Larry Summers who was a marketing director for First Wind while working for Obama ..forgot his job description, may have been Treasury Sec. And now his name is at the top of the list for head of the Federal Reserve. The whole thing stinks so bad, I feel like I need a bath just writing about it.

There was no room on the grid for Cohocton wind farm in NY. When the people found that out there , it was stated that the upgrades would be in place by, I think , 2011.Well, that plan fell through, just like the plan for the under water cable from Wicassett to Boston. Now , First Wind states in their SEC report that lack of transmission is positive.

Martha , First Wind  hopes  to  pay  for  it  by  being  granted  a  PPA or  power  purchase  agreement from DEEP in  Connecticut , indeed  this is  one  of the  projects  they  have submitted an  application  for early  August in  order  to  help Connecticut satisfying  their RPS requirements.

How to  satisfy  Connecticut NIMBY's  conscience ? By destroying Maine 's  wilderness .

It  is  getting  clearer  and  clearer  to  all  of  us  why EUT committee  Chairmen Hobbins  and  Cleveland refuse  to  act  upon  the OEIS report , that will  give  the  time  for  First Wind  to plan  and  implement  their  projects .

First wind  needs  approval from the DEEP Connecticut before  the end  of  2013 at which time the PTC  is back  on the table .

We  will  keep  you  informed about the DEEP Connecticut decisions  as they become  available .

One wonders why -- if this is public information -- the public has to pay to access it....

Where will First Wind get the money to pay for it? If it is another govt. bailout like Stetson II , should WE allow it after the UN decision on windfarms?

Was Stetson Mt windfarm sold soon after it was built because First Wind was unable to pay back Credit Suisse?

Is the cost of dismantling turbines required prior to permitting as in the past?

******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
