By 2007, a former Massachusetts state legislator from East Freetown had sold residential wind turbines using renewable energy credits to residents across the state. Parts of the turbines were replaced with cheaper components, leading to failures during mild wind storms. The former state representative was fined by the Massachusetts Attorney General and subsequently moved to Hawaii. It was never revealed how his Freetown house burned to the ground. Residents lost faith in wind turbines.
In 2008, Massachusetts House Speaker Salvatore DiMasi proposed an amendment that would have allowed his friend, a Boston contractor, to place 120 wind turbines in Buzzards Bay. The Oceans Act of 2008 was the first in the nation. The project failed.
.
Governor Deval Patrick in 2009 declared that by 2020, the state should develop enough wind-generated electricity to power 800,000 homes. At one point, it was revealed that Patrick used the code name Sally Reynolds on emails or sally.reynolds@state.ma.us in the corruption and 8-year conviction trial of House Speaker Sal Dimasi. It has been rumored that the email name was used to avoid Freedom of Information Act requests.
.
Massachusetts began installing megawatt wind turbines in residential neighborhoods to achieve the goal of 2000 megawatts of land-based wind power by 2020. State and local officials ignored the manufacturer's noise warnings, resulting in a statewide catastrophic turbine failure. There is less than 100 megawatts today.
.
In 2018, a former Milton state senator, who was next in line to become the State Senate President, faced more than 100 criminal charges related to alleged corruption during his time in office. After a car crash, he was found dead at his Westport house.
.
Note # The Milton state senator established Windswept LLC in 2011. He was arrested on a 113-count indictment that includes the RICO Act.
.
.
.
President Donald Trump has repeatedly attacked wind energy over alleged impacts on whales. NOAA Fisheries has declared an unusual mortality event for humpback whale strandings along the Atlantic coast. The event began in 2016 with the construction of the Block Island, Rhode Island, ocean turbines and has followed the construction to 2025.
.
Multiple offshore wind companies are facing multiple lawsuits in federal and state courts.
.
Offshore wind is a poor investment. The only alternative is safe Advanced Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) a key goal to develop safe, clean, and affordable nuclear power options for the future.

INTRODUCTION
The IPCC has dubbed CO2 as having magical power, based on its own proprietary “science”
The IPCC claims, CO2 acts as Climate Control Knob, that eventually will cause runaway Climate Change, if we continue using fossil fuels.
Governments proclaimed, “Go Wind and Solar”, Go ENERGIEWENDE, etc., and provided oodles of subsidies and rules and regulations, and mandates, and prohibitions to make it happen.
.
MAGA and burn, baby, burn, may lead to a slightly greater CO2 ppm in atmosphere, which would: 1) increase growth of flora and fauna all over the world, and 2) increase crop yields to feed 8 billion people. What is not to like?
.
The Net-zero-to-reduce CO2-by-2050 slogan has turned out to be a super-expensive suicide pact, to foster command/control by governments, and has enabled the moneyed elites to get richer, at the expense of all others, by using the foghorn of the government-subsidized/controlled Corporate Media.
.
But, at about 30% W/S on the grid, various costs increase exponentially.
The weather-dependent, variable/intermittent W/S output, often too-little and often too-much output, creates operational difficulties that become increasingly more challenging and increasingly more costly/kWh to counteract, as proven by the UK and California for the past 5 years, and Germany for the past 10 years.
.
All three have “achieved” near-zero/real- growth GDPs, the highest electricity prices/kWh, and stagnant real wages for almost all people, while further enriching the elites who live in the poshest places.
.
Their angry, over-taxed, over-regulated native populations are further burdened by the elites bringing in tens of millions of uninvited, unvetted, poor, uneducated, inexperienced folks from all over; a chaotic, culture-clashing burden the native populations never voted for.
.
All that W/S money uglified the countryside, killed fisheries, tourism, viewsheds, etc.
But the climate is not any different than 30 years ago, even though, atmosphere CO2 increased from 280 ppm in 1850 to 420 ppm in 2025, 50% in 175 years.
During that time, world surface temps increased by about 1.5 C, only about 0.5 C can be attributed to CO2, with the rest from:
1) Long-term cycles, such as coming out of the Little Ice Age,
2) Earth surface changes, due to increased agriculture, deforestation, especially in the Tropics, etc.
3) Urban heat islands, such as about 700 miles from north of Portland, Maine, to south of Norfolk, Virginia, forested in 1850, now covered with heat-absorbing human detritus. Japan, China, India, Europe have similar heat islands
.
BTW, the 1850 temp measurements were only in a few locations and mostly inaccurate, +/- 0.5 C. The 1979-to-present temp measurements (46 years) cover most of the earth surface and are more accurate, +/- 0.25 C, due to NASA satellites.
Any graphs should show these accuracy bands.
The wiggles are due to plants rotting late in the year, emitting CO2, plants growing early in the year, consuming CO2, mostly in the Northern Hemisphere.
ISO-NE has produced a report based on the impacts of generation resources deemed available in 2050. The available resources are based on public policies of the SI New England States which are land based wind offshore wind, solar and batteries.
A small section of the 2050 report states: In 2050, "46 TWh of potential SMR generation are unused. SMRs are more expensive to run than wind and solar, but this additional capacity could be used to charge batteries and displace emitting generation later in the year. The ISO will explore how production cost modeling chronology settings impact SMR and battery dispatch."
At the end of the day, Trump’s tariffs are not an isolated policy
They’re a chess move in a much larger game. He’s aiming to rewrite the rules of global trade, attract massive investment back into the U.S., lower taxes, cut red tape, and reassert American economic dominance. Will it work? That depends on execution, timing, and whether businesses are willing to bet on the American comeback. But one thing is clear: this isn’t accidental. It’s a calculated play to rebuild the American economy from the ground up—and it’s going to have ripple effects for years to come.

We should ask Trump to immediately order an additional gas pipeline from Pennsylvania to New England, and for gas/fuel oil storage plants near power plants, because of the National Energy Emergency.
You cannot operate modern data centers and a competitive, modern economy with unaffordable, occasional power
.
Increased CO2 ppm is an essential life gas to increase growth of green flora and abundant fauna, and increase crop yields to feed 8 billion people.
.
Net zero by 2050 to reduce CO2 is an super-expensive hoax is unaffordable even by rich countries, and that will reduce growth of flora and fauna, but will do nothing regarding the climate
That slogan is used by governments for increased command/control of people and by the moneyed elites to spread a worldwide, highly subsidized, super-expensive wind/solar/battery scam to enrich themselves, via tax shelters, at the expense of all others
That is a great summary.
You should add, the demise of windmills saved the New ENLAND economy from unaffordable electricity.
The various Mass governors should be tarred and feathered.
Tariffs will cause wind and solar electricity to increase another 30%.
We dodged the bullets and survived, because of Trump.

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
