UMPI website has explanation posted
The UMPI turbine states that several parts are expected to be delivered "soon" and the turbine should be operating late this week. It has been inoperative since 2/19.

The capacity factor is now down to 11.2%. Looks like they will soon drop into the single digits.
This $ 2 million experiment, the state's only experiment measuring industrial wind electricity generation, will be two years old in about three weeks. As an institution of higher learning, one of the oft-stated goals of the experiment is to share learning.
So at two years into operation with capacity factor moving down into the single digits, what lesson have they learned and when are they going to share this with the people of Maine?

What a piece of sh-- this turbine has turned out to be. Just what could have been done to improve academics at UMPI for the $2million wasted on this farce? They will get it fixed just in time to produce virtually nothing during the placid summer months.

Hopefully there will be information shared on the cost of the repairs. Of course, the maintenance costs don't really even start hitting until another year or so when much more tends to start going haywire.
