Ukraine ‘an invented state’ – Romanian election frontrunner

Calin Georgescu anticipates an “inevitable” transition of Ukrainian lands to their historic owners, including Rumania, Hungary and Poland, all in the east of Ukraine.
These territories were obtained by Russia as part of a WW1 peace settlement. Russia added them to Ukraine.
.

Calin Georgescu, the politician whose first-round victory in the Romanian presidential election was overturned by the Constitutional Court, has argued that the borders claimed by Ukraine were artificially drawn and are subject to inevitable change.

The staunch critic of Western policies made the remarks on Wednesday in an interview with political analyst Ion Cristoiu on YouTube.

He was discussing the adjustments of European borders after World War II, which resulted in a transfer of territories to Soviet Ukraine.

Georgescu said he expects Ukraine to be fragmented as part of a peace deal with Russia, along historical lines.

”This will happen 100%. The path to an outcome like that is inevitable,” he asserted. “Ukraine is a cobbled-together, invented state.”

.

Parts of the historic areas of Bukovina and Bessarabia, which were ceded from Romania to Ukraine during the post-war settlement, are “of interest” to Bucharest, Georgescu said, adding that Hungary and Poland could also claim their historic lands in a hypothetical breakup of Ukraine,

Any lands east of the Dnieper River are ethnically Russian, as is the Odessa province, on the west side of the Dnieper.. The City of Odessa was founded by Katherine the Great.

.

Georgescu made headlines in November when he unexpectedly garnered 23% of the vote in the first round of the presidential election in Romania, a NATO member.

However, the Constitutional Court annulled the results shortly before the second round, citing intelligence documents alleging ‘irregularities’ in the campaign.

.

Subsequent media reports revealed that Georgescu’s candidacy was boosted by a firm closely linked with the pro-Western National Liberal Party (PNL), seemingly to undermine another candidate.

Russia had nothing to do with it

The Romanian government had claimed that Russia was behind the interference scheme, and did not reverse its erroneous decision.

Georgescu now leads in opinion polls and is projected to get 38% of the vote in the upcoming election re-run in May, well ahead of all other candidates.

Russian President Vladimir Putin previously warned about the threat of potential separatism in Western Ukraine, driven by the wish of ethnic minorities “to return to their historic homeland,” with potential support from foreign governments.

.

”In that sense, only Russia could serve as a guarantor of Ukrainian territorial integrity,” he claimed in late 2023. “If [Ukrainians] don’t want that, so be it.

History will set things straight.

We will not stand in the way, but neither will we relinquish what is rightfully ours.”

Ukraine’s actions are harming EU/Russian trade relations; the EU has nothing to gain from Ukraine.

The EU and Russia want to have normal relations

The image shows Russian language presence in brown colors.

The image shows colors but not population density.

For example, in Kiev, about 3.6 million people, almost all speak Russian

All of Crimea has much less people than Kiev

High Costs/kWh of Offshore Wind Foisted onto a Brainwashed Public

The three main subsidies are:

Federal and state tax credits and cash grants,
5-y Accelerated Depreciation write off of the entire project
Deduction of interest of borrowed money

The effect of the three items is to reduce the owning and operating cost of a project by 50%, which means electricity be sold at 50% less than it costs to produce.

Utilities pay 15 c/kWh, wholesale, after 50% subsidies, for electricity from fixedoffshore wind systems

Utilities pay 18 c/kWh, wholesale, after 50% subsidies, for electricity from floating offshore wind

Utilities pay 12 c/kWh, wholesale, after 50% subsidies, for electricity from larger solar systems

.

Excluded costs, at a future 30% W/S annual penetration on the grid, the current UK level:

- Onshore grid expansion/reinforcement, about 2 c/kWh

- Traditional power plants counteracting W/S variable output, on a less than minute-by-minute basis, 24/7/365, about 2 c/kWh

- Traditional power plants providing electricity during 1) low-wind periods, 2) high-wind periods, when rotors are locked in place, and 3) low solar periods during mornings, evenings and at night, about 2 c/kWh

- W/S electricity that could have been produced, if not curtailed, about 1 c/kWh

- Importing electricity at high prices, when W/S output is low, 1 c/kWh

- Exporting electricity at low prices, when W/S output is high, 1 c/kWh

- Disassembly at sea, reprocessing and storing at hazardous waste sites, about 2 c/kWh

Some of these values exponentially increase as more wind and solar systems are added to the grid
.
The economic/financial insanity and environmental damage of it all is off the charts.
No wonder Europe’s near-zero, real-growth economy is in such big do-do

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
