Today Was the Day New England Clean Energy Contracts Were To Have Been Completely Executed

Maine's environment as we know it stands to be tremendously and irreversibly despoiled by he New England Clean Energy RFP, which ultimately arises from the corrupt windpower-owned state legislatures in Mass-Ct-RI. Their timetable, published earlier this year, specifies that all contracts were to be executed by today, 9/22/16.

Moreover, regulatory approval was envisioned by the end of this year - that's 90 days from now.

There has been a mysterious silence masking what is almost certainly frenetic wheeling, dealing and who knows what else behind the scenes, given the billions of dollars that are up for grabs by wind developers, electrical distribution companies, the associated plethora of parasites planning on pickpocketing ratepayers and taxpayers and many who should be watching out for us but are rather looking to receive big personal paydays.

So at this previously announced milestone, when contracts were to have been executed, one of the few things we know is the following announcement made on 7/25/16.

Evaluation Ongoing
The three-state Clean Energy RFP is one key component to ensuring the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the states of Connecticut and Rhode Island meet their clean energy and environmental objectives. Bidders submitted responses to this RFP earlier this year and the evaluation is ongoing. The evaluation team will notify bidders of their status as selections are made. Given the complexity of the analysis and the volume of bids, additional time is needed for evaluation. We will continue to move the process forward as quickly as possible. The website – http://www.cleanenergyrfp.com – will be updated periodically as needed. Final results of the RFP will be announced to the public when executed contracts are filed for regulatory review.

The Clean Energy RFP evaluation team is providing this notice to ensure bidders and stakeholders have all of the up-to-date information available about the status of the RFP. Bidders need not contact the Clean Energy RFP evaluation team with inquiries about bid status, as this statement covers all information the Clean Energy RFP team can provide at this time.

And then there was also this news two weeks ago:

Aroostook County: Power Purchasing Agreement for Number Nine Wind Project Terminated (Connecticut)

The Authority finds that Number Nine will not meet the Critical Milestones of the PPAs with Eversource and UI.

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
