There should be no wondering why we have crumbling infrastructure! We have given the wind industry $176 billion in subsidies and those subsidies amount to more than the actual cost of wholesale energy!

But these billions go into the pockets of people who love Gaia and work tirelessly to do her a bit of good, so what could be wrong?
Subsidies are taxpayer funded seed monies to get these started. An investment if you will, though forced, upon the people whether they use the product or not. An investment that unlike a stock or bond, pays no return to those who were forced and holds no ability to recover or bail out from a bad thing.
As SunEdison goes bankrupt, the upper management and investment groups take or have taken their cut whilst still soliciting funds from the taxpayers in the form of grants above and beyond any subsidies so that they may retain the appearance of a solvent corporation.
Albeit their cohorts such as upper management of TERP see the light, a much brighter light than the smaller investors, the forced investors, the false believers of the technology.
They have the knowledge that slow growth through demand will determine sustainable success.
They know that imposing a product or technology such as Wind (historically a repeated failure) or Solar using funds forcefully "stolen" (since there is no payback requirement) through deception of an uninformed public or government is just a Quick Scheme tantamount to robbery sanctioned by laws, rules, or regulations written or modified by the corporate world leaders of the day.
Wind and Solar are not the first nor the only industry or sector of our existence to have been subsidized, nor are these thieves the first to become wealthy and evade prosecution to live abroad.
So long as corporations (an entity, though consisting of specific persons) are able to influence governments (of, for, by the people) and are provided a status of personhood and an ability to utilize its wealth or its perceived needed ability to provide for the masses as its voice with a greater authority than those the government is comprised of or represents, the corrupt few will reign.
So long as We the People remain silent, or stand still and do not force our government to behave the way We the People (not Those the corporations) require it to, this will continue.
What is the cost of dividing communities and pitting neighbor against neighbor? It happens in every community on earth where an industrial wind factory is planned for areas where people live. Our government, our environmental groups and our media no longer look out for us. Rather they walk on us. It is time for an awakening.
Hmm - Need to take time and a good look at that - It is a staggering amount of money - Still This is a reliable source - Hard to find these Days!
The second paragraph seems a bit misleading.
From the Article further down, paragraph 12:
When all of the subsidies, loans, and loan guarantees given to the companies on AWEA’s board are counted, the grand total comes to a staggering $5.1 trillion.

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
