President-elect Donald Trump is working with former Democrat and current Republican Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-N.J.) to draft an executive order halting offshore wind turbine production off the East Coast and setting the stage for further restrictions, the congressman said Monday.

“These offshore wind projects should have never been approved in the first place. The Biden administration rammed them through the approval process without proper oversight, transparent lease agreements, or a full understanding of their devastating consequences. They are an economic and environmental disaster waiting to happen. The Biden administration’s reckless green agenda put politics over people, and that ends now,” said Rep. Van Drew in a Monday press release.
“President Trump is committed to stopping these harmful projects and is taking decisive action. This executive order is just the beginning. We will fight tooth and nail to prevent this offshore wind catastrophe from wreaking havoc on the hardworking people who call our coastal towns home,” he added.
Van Drew believes that the executive order will be finalized within a few months of Trump’s inauguration, and he hopes that a temporary halt on offshore wind on the East Coast will lead to permanent restrictions.
Two days after Van Drew’s press release, Trump announced his plan to ensure an end to costly and inefficient offshore wind projects and expressed a hope that not one new turbine is built during his time in office.
“Windmills are an economic and environmental disaster. I don’t want even one built during my Administration. The thousands of dead and broken ones should be ripped down ASAP. Most expensive energy, only work with massive government subsidies, which we will no longer pay,” said Trump on Truth Social.

Now we know why all the patriotic people voted for Trump
There are photo-op patriots, who go on luxurious, 5-star, taxpayer-dime junkets, but they do not count, such as Democrat-supporting, RINO Collins
You cannot MAGA, with highly subsidized, grid disturbing, expensive, wind a solar systems.
They take up vast areas
They uglify the landscape and seascape
They emit low frequency sound which damages people and animals
They ruin fisheries
They ruin tourism
They would not exist without the subsidies, says Warren Buffett

The Angry US People
Such so-called energy policies, dreamt up by Liberal Arts majors and Lawyers and naive Bureaucrats and Legislators, will be rejected by most of the over-taxed, over-regulated, already-impoverished, angry voters in the US, trying to make ends meet in a near-zero, real-growth US economy. with high interest rates, high inflation rates, high energy and consumer prices, and decreasing, spendable, real household incomes,
- plus paying taxes for tens of millions of unskilled, poor, culturally different, Third World people from all over, with higher birth rates than the natives, and much higher crime rates than the natives
- plus paying taxes for increased weapons production, budget aid, etc., to keep the Ukraine proxy war going "for as long as it takes".
- plus paying more for gas and other items, because Ukraine, likely with urging from the US/UK, shut down the transit line carrying Russian gas.
- plus paying more for gas and other items, because Ukraine, likely with urging from the US/UK, bombed the pumping station of Turk-stream, the last remaining gas pipeline to Europe carrying Russian gas.
- plus paying for highly subsidized, grid disturbing, expensive, wind a solar systems, that need various expensive support systems, and produce very expensive electricity (wholesale, 15 c/kWh offshore, 18 c/kWh floating offshore, after 50% subsidies, such as grants, tax credits, 5-y write off, deduction of loan interest, government- guaranteed loans, and work only if there is sufficient wind, and sunshine.
.
Such extremely expensive extremism will be rejected by most of the over-taxed, over-regulated, already-impoverished, angry voters in the US, trying to make ends meet in a near-zero, real-growth European economy. with high interest rates, high inflation rates, high energy and consumer prices, and decreasing, spendable, real household incomes, plus paying for tens of millions of unskilled, poor, culturally different, Third World people from all over, with higher birth rates than the natives.
.
The dysfunctional, leftist, pro-war, governments of France, the UK and Germany are teetering.
The angry people are voting for moderate/rightist parties that better represent their interests.
The parties in power threaten to annul elections, if they do not like the outcomes, as was done in Rumania, etc.
.
High Costs/kWh of Offshore Wind Foisted onto a Brainwashed/Gullible Public
Forcing utilities to pay 15 c/kWh, wholesale, after 50% subsidies, for electricity from fixed offshore wind systems, and
Forcing utilities to pay 18 c/kWh, wholesale, after 50% subsidies, for electricity from floating offshore wind systems is suicidal economic insanity.
.
Excluded costs, at a future 30% wind/solar penetration on the grid, the current UK level:
- Onshore grid expansion/reinforcement, about 2 c/kWh
- Traditional plants counteracting wind/solar variable output, on a less than minute-by-minute basis, 24/7/365, about 2 c/kWh
- Traditional plants providing electricity during 1) low-wind periods, 2) high-wind periods, when rotors are locked in place, and 3) low solar periods, about 2 c/kWh
- Wind and solar electricity that could have been produced, if not curtailed, about 1 c/kWh
- Disassembly at sea, reprocessing and storing at hazardous waste sites, about 2 c/kWh
These values exponentially increase as more wind and solar systems are added to the grid

The economic insanity and environmental damage of it all is off the charts
No wonder Europe’s near-zero, real-growth economy is in such big do-do.

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
