PPH - Trump is naming Oklahoma attorney general Scott Pruitt to head EPA

Agencies such as the EPA, he said, should not be trying to “pinch hit” for Congress......Pruitt has spent much of his energy as attorney general fighting against the agency he will now lead.....

From 2014:

EPA’S clean power plan is wrong for states
BY SCOTT PRUITT AND JONATHAN SMALL - 12/16/14

.....Not only do states not need the ineffective hand of the federal government determining what fuel sources it uses, but the EPA does not have legal authority granted under the Clean Air Act. States should be left to make decisions on the fuel diversity that best meets their electric generation needs. The EPA's proposal overrides state authority by forcing states to prioritize non-fossil-fuel generation over fossil-fueled generation. This is a direct violation of states' traditional role in making their individual energy policies.......

Climate Depot’s publisher Marc Morano statement on President Elect Donald Trump’s selection of Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt pick for EPA chief: “President-Elect Trump’s appointment of Scott Pruitt is a breath of fresh air. No longer do we have to suffer under President Obama’s ridiculous EPA ‘climate’ regulations. It is also refreshing that a Republican President is not throwing the EPA over to the green activists and the media by appointing a weak administrator. Christine Todd Whitman he is not! See: Bravo! Trump appoints ‘a fierce critic of the EPA’ — to head EPA! & Cheers! Trump picks leading EPA critic to head agency & NYT: ‘Trump Picks Scott Pruitt, Climate Change Denialist, to Lead EPA‘ & Wash Post: Trump names Scott Pruitt, Oklahoma AG suing EPA on climate change
Trump’s pick of Pruitt finally means that a Republican President is standing up the green establishment! Historically, EPA chiefs have been among the most pro regulatory members of past Republican presidents from Nixon through Ford, Reagan and both Bushes. Trump has broken the cycle!

The fuzzy thinking of the AGW crowd should be fair game for people trying to understand the best decision to make regarding a slew of decisions such as E-15,. use of fossil fuel, renewable energy subsidies,  I honestly believe from my own personal research and observation of the data ( IPCC supplied that is sufficient to prove the failure. ) that the fundamental assertions are flawed in that the predictions after 20 years have been clearly falsified and have no demonstrable skill in prediction. Having said that I would be quite happy being proven wrong because all I want is the best understanding possible and a theory that demonstrates skill upon which to make decisions. Politics go to hell! Politics is the only place where one can be right and wrong at the same time.  Just because someone won an election with a high percentage of people who are of the opinion that AGW in the larger sense of global climate change is BUNK doesn't mean we can vote on the science or that they are "Right" what ever that means. We vote on the politics. Science advances on one  brilliant epiphany at a time. I am not afraid to be wrong I am afraid to "think" I am right when I am wrong. So show me, argue your point educate me, AS long as you don't insult me as a debating tactic I can be educated. When you have nothing to add to your point shut up, don't insult me, let us agree to disagree. I will be thinking about your points because I understand them. My fear of "thinking " I am right means that I will roll your points in my mind until I come to a personal conclusion. After that every piece of data I come across will be tested against the rejected premise just on the odd chance it is a better understanding of the situation. If you are worried about the politics and some are wholly invested in an outcome just be prepared to support something that is factually incorrect because the political issue is more important than a sub optimum decision based upon it. It would be a service to those who just want to "get it right" if you would just sport some sort of identifying mark, tattoo or wild look in your eye so I can move away before your last salvo comes as an insult.

Interview with Timothy Ball, PhD. at the “Global-Warming; an Inconvenient Lie” conference in Phoenix, AZ. Next week he will be meeting with Myron Ebell, who is heading Trump’s EPA Transition.
Timothy Ball gives a preview of key issues he will be discussing with Myron Ebell.
He conveys that the meeting will center around defunding green energy subsidies and redirecting the EPA’s focus away from so-called “man-made” climate change to more immediate and verifiable environmental concerns such as water contamination.

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
