Why was Justin Alfond lurking in the back of the AGRICULTURAL Committee all day yesterday?

Justin Alfond was lurking in the back of the AGRICULTURE Committee all day...even after 5 pm. Why? Because his district in Portland has Agriculture issues???  No.
To pressure his D members to vote against LD 828, citizens' rights.

Final vote: all the Ds voted against.

CORRECTION: Rep. Ralph Chapman, a Democrat, voted with us. One Republican, Rep. Don Marean, voted against us.

Meanwhile:

May 13, 2015

It's now over four months since the Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting ratted out Justin Alfond in the following article and not a peep from the Maine media.

Think of all the far less important news coverage you see every day and ask yourself the question - why does the Justin Alfond wind industry story not interest the press?

Also, be sure to at least skim some of the 171 pages of love notes between Alfond and his windy paramours. The links to these are below:

Justin Alfond - Three Weeks After the First Wind Story

Feb 1, 2015, Super Bowl Sunday - Three Weeks Now: Has anyone heard a peep about the Justin Alfond wind story in the press since Ms. Schalit's article?

Step Down Senator.

Browne, First Wind’s lawyer, sent Alfond suggested text for an amendment. Alfond ultimately adopted it,changing nothing in the 248 words she supplied.

Lexington Township resident Michka reflected on how hard it has been for citizens like him to gain traction in the statehouse.

Michka said, “I will tell you one thing that a legislator said to me, a Democratic legislator. He told me, ‘We don’t want you here. We say we do, we act like we do and we welcome you, but in truth we don’t want you here. In truth you clog up the works and make us feel bad. We don’t analyze bills so much as we rationalize.’

“If democracy is about citizens,” said Michka, “then this isn’t really democracy.”

Notice that Jeremy Payne used a Bernstein Shur email address.  Apparently he is an employee there too:  http://www.bernsteinshur.com/news/the-bernstein-shur-group-adds-cot...

Alfond is disgusting, as are many who have participated these last 8 years in the wind scam in Maine

Maine is a dirty little state politically, and the disregard for the citizens who indeed control state government (in a  minor document to Alfond ,called the Maine State Constitution) should be calling for his resignation.

Read the FOIA emails folks, and remember what LD 1750 last year was designed to do,to remove the citizens voice in their  very government,so scoundrels like wind developers could remove them from the permitting process by stating none of them were "experts" in the governance of their  own communities .

Outrageous!

Step Down Alfond, the  "unctuous fancy pretty boy scoundrel " of the legislature!

How much did the wind lobby contribute to him for his vote  , I forget.

Someone,enlighten me please.

I think the rational is, Plausible Deniability, with a bribe kicker. They claim ignorance after they leave with their bonuses.

'We don’t analyze bills so much as we rationalize.’  How do you rationalize idiocy and corruption?

The following site links to a PDF documents of a NYS Code of Conduct signed by First Wind CEO Paul Gaynor.
I believe this originally came from the following, where the attachment is mysteriously no longer available.

It would be nice to see a code of conduct for wind companies established in Maine. What would it take?

Also at the link, see a letter from then U.S. Congressman (D) Eric Massa to President Obama where he terms First Wind's business model as one of "lie, cheat and corrupt".

They know they can not succeed with half truths or untruths

whetstone; Larry Dumphy, Roberta Beavers, I think Harvel were all knowing this is a scam. even as committee members they were limited on their time to seek the truth.

Protest to demand that Maine changes its laws on ethics and what constitutes a conflict of interest. Don't forget, this is the state where after months of interviewing at First Wind while his PUC greased the skids for the $1.4 billion ratepayer-funded "CMP Upgrade" (aka an outright but disguised-by-lies GIFT to the wind companies), PUC Chair Kurt Adams, took over $1 million in stock options from First Wind a month before he jumped there as their new director of transmission. After citizens requested that the Attorney General investigate, AG Janet Mills concluded "there was no conflict"! This at the same time her sister, Maine CDC director Dora Mills, falsely claimed there were no peer-reviewed studies documenting wind turbine health effects. And remember also that later when Adams, up for a UMS board seat, testified before the Education Committee at his confirmation hearing, he was allowed to deny any conflict between University wind research and his employer First Wind on the basis that First Wind was "terrestrial", completely ignoring the fact it was the same company as Deepwater Wind, which billed itself as the nation's leading offshore wind company. To this day, Adams sits as one of the trustees on the UMS board. Probably like having a wind lobbyist on the board.

The  DEP permitting process for wind projects is the one and only state reviewing agency given power to say yea or nay to development applications and it has many shortcomings related to financial issues, noise issues and consumer and industry impacts.  The state should require the Maine PUC to evaluate ratepayer impacts of wind projects versus the known ratepayer impact of another clean generating source, hydro-electric, starting with the legislative mandated long term contract between CMP/Emera and Rollins Wind.  Underneath the legislative cover of wind resources is an ineffective technology and administration for the advancement of clean and financially responsible electric generation.

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
