MUST READ: "Someone poisoned their dogs.....Everything they tell you is a lie”

EXCERPTS:

Rather than divide communities, they said their projects improve the lives of all residents..........Landowners often overlook potential problems until it’s too late. Many who sign contracts can’t terminate the agreements, even if they later beg for relief from what they deem intolerable living conditions........Elected officials tasked with voting on these developments have, in many cases, signed their own contracts with the wind companies, raising concerns about conflicts of interest........Wind farm residents who spoke out about their problems said the industry belittles them........“You lose complete control of your land,” Steinich said. “They decide everything.” He ultimately sold his acreage and stopped farming........Both men also said wind company representatives falsely claimed their neighbors had signed lease agreements and that the wind projects were coming no matter what. They might as well profit, too. They said they later learned their neighbors hadn’t signed up – at least not at that point. Steinich said he discovered he was the first to sign.......Contracts with wind developers can last decades, sometimes with no exit clause for the landowner but language allowing the company to terminate at any time........“These are the most atrocious contracts I’ve ever read in my life,” said Roger McEowen, a professor of agricultural law and taxation at Washburn..........“If you were looking at two identical houses and one had wind turbine and one didn’t, which would you pick?” said Bradley Tupi, a Pittsburg attorney who has litigated several wind-related suits. “There is an obvious impact on property value,” he said.................“There is a huge emotional, psychological and physical effect from these things,” King said. “It’s disgraceful how these companies come into economically deprived area and rip apart families, friends and neighbors.”

Signing contracts and then withholding truthful information equals lying or fraud by omission. The wind industry is guilty of this a million times over.

Arthur Qwenk, as to your first paragraph, A Rights Based Ordinance for each community will work, however they are unable to work for Unorganized Territories in Maine.

A rights based ordinance is derived directly from the U.S. and Maine Constitutions. 2nd, 9th & 10th amendments. Unless the constitution is changed they can be if written correctly more powerful than current Federal law and future Federal law.

This type of ordinance helped against the East West Highway/Utility corridor and has also worked on other issues across the United States.

Not an absolute answer but one of many tools to fight back.

The most detrimental and insidious aspect of the the wind scheme IMHO is the loss of citizen rights and usurpation of local control and even state constitutional provisions w/o do process, as contrived by the wind industry, lobby, and politicians they own. If they can't win, they just change the laws with inside influence. The average citizen is in a serious fight to maintain their Constitutional RIGHTs, which the wind lobby works at  changing  for their benefit constantly, insidiously...unless stopped by citizen action and their constitutional rights.

It is indeed a despicable industry .

They play a very serious hard ball game of illegal land acquisition and  rights removal without due process.  Sounds like central control by big brother indeed.

As Angus King once said at a meeting, paraphrased, " it is so much easier to do this in a place like China." Indeed, he knows how to be a wind shyster very well (independence Wind)..King a part owner.

In earlier times, this industry  would have caused hot confrontation with citizens.

Who knows what the future holds as these things become more numerous and  as their  uselessness is more recognized in the overall energy market.

The more the public is educated to this scam, the more they hate the wind shysters.

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
