"Killing Maine" Available at Killer Price on Amazon (written by Mike Bond, Chairperson of wind group Saving Maine)

Mike Bond's "Killing Maine" is a true winner. In fact it just took first prize in Fiction at the New England Book Festival. Mr. Bond's great gifts as a writer become abundantly clear very soon into this masterful book. If you have not yet read this gripping story, I urge you to do so. And please spread the word as it is yet another tool to let people know about what is being perpetrated on Maine and Mainers. (Mike Bond is Chairman of Saving Maine).

From Kirkus:

The story has an unusual villain, WindPower LLC, whose deafening, monstrous turbines are an incessant presence throughout the story. The political and financial muscle behind WindPower is abundantly clear from the beginning, immediately demonizing the company.

Mike Bond's "Killing Maine" Novel Available at Fantastic Price on Amazon

Our own extremely dedicated and knowledgeable Maine wind fighter Mike Bond has written what I found to be a very powerful suspense novel, with the Maine wind power scam central to the story. I recently finished the book and recommend it highly and applaud Mr. Bond for the work he put into researching and writing this excellent suspense novel....and one that strikes close to home for many of us.

I was not able to put this down. Mike Bond has a true gift and is using it for good.

It is presently available for $.99 on Kindle and as low as $4.81 new in a physical edition. I believe you do not need to own a Kindle to read - I think one can simply download the free Kindle App or free Kindle Cloud Reader and read it on their PC or other devices.

I read it and enjoyed it.  Mike Bond makes it very clear that some of the most corrupt politicians in the nation hail right here from the great State o' Maine.  A friend thinks that Cruella the wind lawyer is practicing in one of the large Portland law firms today and she could very well be another well known former lawmaker as well.  Bond wraps modern Maine politics around a well-written murder mystery plot.

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
