It Begins, Grassroots Rejection of LS Power to the PUC

"Hello, I have major concerns of this proposed power line interfering with the existing Buckeye pipeline. The pipeline has been extremely reliable for 70 years. Pipeline failures are horrible. This new power line has the potential to negatively affect this pipeline in 100 ways. Please respond so we can discuss further".

"This power line has me extremely worried. I would like to see more detailed maps. I'm also wondering why, with so many roads, they are going through what appears to be a lot of untouched farmland and wood lots. Surely there's another corridor that they can piggyback on. I'm also very concerned that this project has gotten as far as it has without the people who will be most directly affected by it not knowing about it until very recently. I don't want to be a NIMBY hypocrite, but until I know more about where exactly it's going and why it has to be there, I don't want it in my literal backyard."

"What the hell is going on?????!! As a home/land owner in nearby Jefferson, ME, I am disgusted, infuriated and sickened that the Governor who WORKS for the Maine taxpayers deceitfully endorsed the Power Line the right to steal property by eminent domain!!!! I propose these big Power Companies pay each individual landowner $1,000,000/ per acre that they are permanently destroying to each home/landowner!!!!! The people who WILL benefit from this Power Line HAVE to pay the price, not Maine home/landowners. Stop this insanity."

"This project would negatively impact farm land and scenic views no matter which route it goes, Chine or Paleramo. If one town wins the other loses. The people of Maine should be allowed to vote on this wind farm and the transmission line. I don't believe it benefits us enough to justify destroying pristine wilderness and active farm land. There should be a vote by the people. Our representatives have over stepped their bounds too much with this. This renewable energy stuff is a scam and Maine and it's people shouldn't be destroying our land and footing the bill so Massachusetts can buy carbon credits. Let them build their own green power if they need it so bad. The real people of Maine that don't live in the southern counties are the only people hurt by these types of projects. People in Portland and Mass have no idea what it means to try to buy and hold and work a piece of land that is part of your lively hood. They don't deserve to have that land taken from them for the sake of liberals feeling good about themselves in towns and states hundreds of miles away."

Super expensive offshore wind turbines, and batteries will come to the rescue to power the heat pumps in summer and winter, and the cookstoves and EVs year-round.

In case of power failure/blackouts, you will no longer be allowed to have gas-powered electric generators, which means, after a few days of blackouts, you throw your expensive food away.

Democrats, who elected these inane, incompetent, impractical, technically challenged people, are finally learning some of the very costly, unaffordable, realities of the situation.

The Russians, Chinese, and many other people, are laughing in their fists, as the US and EU repeatedly shoot ourselves in their feet.

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
