GE Vernova Offshore Wind Billion Dollar Bungle

The Massachusetts Clean Energy and Climate Plan for 2025 and 2030 set goals for net zero gas emissions by 2050
.
First, Massachusetts set a land-based goal of 2000 megawatts of wind power by 2020. The turbines were placed too close to residential homes making people sick with noise and shadow flicker. The land-based project was a boondoggle with less than 100 megawatts.
.
Next politicians next doubled down placing much larger turbines in the ocean. The blades for these turbines are over three hundred feet.
.
In 2019 to achieve certification of one GE Vernova 351-foot blade made in Cherbourg, France it had to be tested at the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center " Wind Technology Testing Center."
.
Those involved with the wind testing facility define regulatory capture: LM Wind Company, GE Renewable Energy, Renewable Energy Testing Laboratory, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and the University of Massachusetts.
The National Renewable Energy Laboratory also partnered with the U.S. Department of Energy Wind Program and the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center to design, construct, and operate the Wind Technology Center (WTTC) in Boston, Massachusetts. Several private companies were involved in the blade certification.
.
To reach the renewable energy goal they put the cart before the horse. The wind testing facility could only test blades up to 290 feet so they cut the one Cherbourg GE 351 foot blade in two sections skipping the torsion test on the entire blade. The hybrid blade was certified which cleared the way for producing 150 blades manufactured at the LM Wind Company in Canada.LM Wind Company is a holding company of General Electric.
.
None of the 351-foot blades manufactured in Canada ever underwent a test as they would not fit in a test center and would have to be cut in two parts.
.
On July 13, 2024, one of the first GE Vernova blades broke off a Vineyard Wind project spewing 50 tons of foam, microplastics, and balsa wood from Massachusetts to Rhode Island. Vacations and businesses suffered in Nantucket and the Islands at the height of the season. Environmental trash is still washing up today.
.
GE Vernova estimates the cost of the blade fiasco will be 700 million. The decision has been made to remove all the blades manufactured at the Canadian plant.
.
The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement is investigating the GE Vernova Vineyard Wind Blades. BSEE was to inform the public on January 15, 2025, to answer questions about the blade failure. BSEE was postponed until February 3, 2025, and canceled again. Likely the Biden administration with only a few days left wanted to issue the new SouthCoast Wind permit on the way out the door and that meeting would interfere.
.
The only conclusion a rush to achieve the renewable energy agenda continues. The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management and the Biden administration ignored safety issues and on January 17 three days before President Trump took office issued the final permit for SouthCoast Wind. SouthCoast Wind is three times the size of Vineyard Wind.

What the states call "gas" is carbon dioxide, one of the fundamental necessities of life on this planet. An attack on C02 is an attack on modern civilization. If it's not incompetence, it has to be the devil's wish these people are bowing to.

Their wind and solar plants are not only destroying the vibrance of human experiences, but they are also retarding human achievement. The strategic fear of carbon dioxide is made up of brutal superstitions regressing all lifeforms towards extinction.

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/

Sign up today and lend your voice and presence to the steadily rising tide that will soon sweep the scourge of useless and wretched turbines from our beloved Maine countryside. For many of us, our little pieces of paradise have been hard won. Did the carpetbaggers think they could simply steal them from us?

We have the facts on our side. We have the truth on our side. All we need now is YOU.
