FALMOUTH WIND TURBINES AND THE MASSACHUSETTS FAKE NEWS MEDIA

Falmouth, Massachusetts USA December 17, 2016

Why does the media lie to us either by omission or by commission ? We know today after the recent election the US media actively misinforms the public on crucial issues that matter especially with commercial wind ?

Journalism over the past few years has become less objective, accurate and investigative in the way it presents information and relays facts to the public.

The Liberal news media cost Hillary Clinton her bid to become the first woman president. Various news groups used one sided polls to show their candidate ,Hillary Clinton, who they endorsed was winning almost every state.

The Clinton campaign mistakenly used the one sided media poll figures and stayed away from states where the media polls showed she was winning by large margins. Donald Trump ignored the fake news media polls in which the result is Donald Trump is the next president of the United States.

Massachusetts communities and local politicians have suffered the same mistakes believing media puff stories about commercial wind turbines. Puff stories are articles or reports in the media that are based on exaggerated praise of commercial wind turbines.

When was the last time the news media reported on the four types of wind turbine noise , Tonal, Broadband, Low Frequency/Infra-sound and Impulsive ? The answer is you never will proving the media continues to omit the truth or what I call is lying by omission.

Falmouth, Massachusetts is ground zero for poorly placed wind turbines in the United States thanks in large part due to years of news media omissions over the dangers of wind turbine noise and shadow flicker.

So what is the fake news ? One major example in Massachusetts is the absolute failure of journalist to report the truth about the dangers of commercial wind turbines. Massachusetts is the leader in fake wind turbine news coverage if there was an award they (media) would win hands down.

The media frequently lie by omission. Fake news is sometimes a matter of intentionally misstating facts or just leaving out information to achieve an agenda they are invested in.

Here is a perfect example of the media failure in wind turbine investigative journalism : In Boone, North Carolina, Doctor Kelley and his co-researchers at the Solar Energy Research Institute in the US, closely connected with the US Department of Energy and NASA, identified in 1985 that the source of the annoyance for the residents living near a single downwind bladed wind turbine was ‘impulsive infrasound and low frequency noise.

The media even today ignores research that was done over thirty years ago while health complaints increase.

There is no doubt that journalism has fallen on tough times in this electronic era. Newspapers have been shutting down by the dozens and those that are left are shedding jobs, cutting salaries, eliminating benefits, and, consequently, covering fewer and fewer news worthy events.

The news media in Massachusetts is guilty of taking press releases issued during former Governor Patrick administration about wind turbines and reprinting them in the Sunday papers as if it was the real news. Former Governor Patrick is a wind turbine advocate with ties to the wind industry. Friends with First Wind ,Boston & Hawaii.

With advertising drying up and newspapers and other news gathering organizations losing money something certainly has to give. So why not present the negative side of commercial wind turbines in Massachusetts ?

The state has twenty one communities with poorly sited wind turbines and shattered families as collateral damage of a state wind turbine agenda gone horribly wrong.

The news media in Massachusetts has nothing to lose by reporting the truth. If the Massachusetts land based wind industry is all about jobs they could put plenty of people to work moving the poorly placed wind turbines away from residential neighborhoods.

We are living in a post-truth society where it is extraordinarily difficult to correct falsehoods passed on so swiftly and indiscriminately through the news media

The World Health Organization (WHO) is currently modernizing its noise guidelines for industrial wind turbines. The guidelines were last revised in 1999.

In the United States landowners can and have filed nuisance lawsuits against wind energy.

A regulatory taking occurs where a regulation causes a “permanent physical invasion” of private property.
The Falmouth residents describe the noise as torture from lack of sleep

But our illustrious Clifton, Maine Planning Board researched and knows that it is 'settled science' that wind turbines don't produce infrasound and low frequency noise and 4000 feet is plenty setback for audible noise. So if we complain now, who's going to listen and who's going to report it in the media? If the developers want a story put out, the news is johnny on the spot. If the landowners want a story put out, either it doesn't get there or it is downplayed by giving the developers more time to tout their spiel.

As we all know, the Fake News story was touted by the left throughout the last two years worth of elections.  The funny thing is they have been the recipients of the positive side of that Fake News, and are now complaining that it turned against them.  I just heard John Podesta say they fought an uphill battle with the media this election cycle.  WOW!  THAT IS THE EPITOME OF FAKE NEWS.

We know we are getting bad press from guys like Tux Turkel and the PPH on a constant basis and also from the BDN.  I have had several Letters and Op-Eds not accepted.  The only good thing in our favor is that the new administration will put an end to the wind and solar farce and get our energy prices down and bring jobs back.  After four years we may not need the Task force any more.  Wouldn't that be nice.

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
