Click below to watch the four minute video.
Some excerpts:
- Your electric bill has become a major instrument of public policy..........
- The money collected has been rising steadily
- Already, these agendas add up to about $300 a year for the average electricity bill
- The chart at about the one minute mark in the video does not explain why greenhouse gas emissions have come down since 1990. (I would absolutely not assume it's all due to policy implementation and I would want to know how much can be attributed to the net effects of wind power)

What criminals learn in the yard or "how to pickpocket Joe and Jane without getting caught'
Comment
Have fun reading these articles.
They relate directly to your monthly electric bill, or heating bill, or gasoline bill.
A surcharge here and a surcharge there and soon we are talking about real money out of your pocket into someone else's pocket.
Whatever efficiency program the state government sets up, any savings will be taken away from your pocket (in the name of a good cause) by means of increased electric rates, plus increases in taxes, fees and surcharges, plus increased prices of goods and services, as businesses try to recoup THEIR cost increases.
That money will be used to pay for setting up additional government programs and/or expand existing programs, all in the name of a good cause.
Any increases in overall productivity of the PRIVATE economy would mitigate SOME of the increases in the prices of goods and services.
Let us hope the government will allowsus to keep enough money to make the INVESTMENTS to actually achieve these increases in productivity.
If not, down the tube we go.
Gee, I almost thought this was rocket science, until I realized it was just Economics 101.

Ocasio-Cortez “does not know the difference between weather and climate,” Maue tweeted. “Let’s try an easy analogy: Weather is what outfit you wear heading out the door. Climate is your closet wardrobe.”

Amen! Amen! Amen And I am damned sick of this! All this Hoopla about 100% renewable electrical energy - Its 6% of our carbon footprint in Maine! Maybe even less with solar showing up in Maine! Our Governor, Janet Mills needs to clearly understand this! It is nothing but a political mouth fart!
In a May 17 order, Massachusetts' Department of Public Utilities approved a petition from the local subsidiaries of Eversource Energy, National Grid and Unitil Corp. to issue a request for proposals for a total of 800 MW of offshore wind generation with a commercial operating date of 2024.
This will be is the second such solicitation authorized since a 2016 state law directed utilities to procure 1,600 MW of offshore wind. The utilities sought a nominal levelized price of less than $84.23/MWh, as a result of a state law requiring each subsequent round of the offshore wind RFP to deliver prices lower than the first round of contracts.
Vineyard Wind won the first contract in May 2018 with a bid for its 800-MW Vineyard Offshore Wind Project. The utilities filed power purchase agreements to buy energy and renewable energy certificates from Vineyard Wind at a total levelized price of 6.5 cents/kWh, the lowest offshore wind PPA price in the US to date, according to trade group American Wind Energy Association.
Vineyard Wind is a joint venture between Denmark-based Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and a subsidiary of Connecticut utility Avangrid.

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT
******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********
(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
