BDN - Maine coastal town’s leaders vote to oppose offshore wind project
The St. George Select Board voted Monday to oppose an offshore wind project taking shape about 12 miles away, standing with local fishermen who say the project and its transmission cable would harm their livelihoods.
The unanimous vote follows a recommendation made by an advisory committee created last month by the five-person Select Board to weigh the impact the Maine Aqua Ventus offshore wind project would have on the local community.

Ha hahahaha...the head of the Select Board is a rabid moonbat liberal who wants solar panels on town buildings,even though he knows they'll never pay for themselves,and will cost the taxpayers money in the long run ...because,as he put it in one meeting "its a virtuous argument..".....and yet NOW he apparently sees the "light" ,perhaps of local pressure?, to vote against industrial wind offshore. What a NIMBY.
Articles I wrote for the local papers more than a year ago about industrial wind,and Maine as a "plantation state" got zero positive local comments from local liberals. What do you know,maybe they might want to go back and re-read them.
