There is an over-riding concept here---community. What kind of community imposes industrial blight on top of it? What kind of community sacrifices the well being of some of their residents to noise related health issues? What kind of mean spirited property owners punishes their neighbors by cutting off decades old tradition of access due to passage of an ordinance? They don't deserve to own the top of Mt. Waldo.
Frankfort is a gorgeous niche of our beautiful state; don't ruin it with 45 story tall turbines that are placed there not for electricity production (the capacity factor of Maine wind sites averages below 25%) or to save the planet in some way (there is no evidence that wind power offsets carbon) but to cash in on the taxpayer scam. Nearby Penobscot Narrows Observatory is a major tourist attraction. Nobody travels hundreds of miles to see useless wind turbines.
Hang in there Frankfort. Do the right thing and stand your ground to keep industrial wind blight out of your community.
