Audubon members- Reunite by quitting
Every Audubon member truly dedicated to saving bird species across North America, should gather together at press conference telling the world they are quitting this organization because they have sold out to wind energy. They should also announce the formation of new group called Audubon's Warriors that will no longer accept rigged or non scientific research, be silent about the hidden slaughter taking place from wind turbines and promote wind industry propaganda as truth.

We quit Audubon several years ago and sent Maine Audubon a letter with copy to our local Director at Field's Pond explaining it was because of its misguided policy on wind power. Never heard a peep back. We did the same to Maine NRC, and received a very pointed letter in reply from the director!

Remember the osprey- they are the raptor most susceptible (Searsburg "study" - only New England publication on avian impacts??). Tons of public and private money spent on restoring habitat to accelerate recovery of this iconic bird from the environmental disaster of DDT. Juveniles most susceptible.
Just a thought.
I also think that it is worthwhile reminding Maine Audubon that they wanted ridgetops and much of the coastline to be no-go for wind towers, and that they are foreseeing, with "Wind Vision", those ever taller and larger rotored turbines that can make a bit of money anywhere (assuming good enough Power Purchase Agreement and "carbon tax" aka RGGI and RPS with a federal PTC to make money). Sierra is equally inconsistent - saying (in MA) that dBC is a concern and that immissions should be near ambient, not 10-40 dB above. It is true that neither applies what humans report about noise impacts to any wildlife. Only ABC has been consistent. National Fish & Wildlife is concerned about turbines within 3 miles in or offshore for Michigan Great Lakes, why silent on Northeast fresh and marine waters??

I love birds. I counted loons on Quimby Pond for 25 years. I quit the Audubon Society 2 years ago because of their insane backing of turbines
