Too much time has been spent wringing our hands over the gathering storm that is climate change. Or worse, arguing with those who don't believe that pumping gazillions of tons of carbon into the atmosphere over the last 200 years didn't have an impact.Which is why I am cheered to see the roll-up-our-sleeves-let's-dig-into-this approach the Maine Climate Council is taking. Our lead story provides some frightening predictions on what our state could face, but that fear should spur action, not more hand wringing.

But Tom, they haven’t dug in yet. They haven’t decided what to do nor when. And WE do not have the money for this – we aren’t going to sell “climate” bonds. States with a wealthy tax base have it over Maine in bonding megabucks over 30-50 years. Ain’t going to happen.
