I really appreciate all the analysis that the Long Islander and others are doing. It is very important. The devil is always in the details But, I think one of the problems in getting "the public" to understand what is going on is that it is so complicated. I had to really concentrate to understand the last post, and I am interested in trying. My take away from the .11 potential wind index figure for my 6:00 pm newscast, hopefully before all the murders and burglaries, is "Not enough wind in…

The wind industry has told us repeatedly that "Maine is the Saudi Arabia of Wind". Moreover, by enlisting locally known figures to repeat this such as Angus King, they have been able to spread this lie far and wide. Not unlike what they have done in at least 14 other states.

Hello. This is Governor Paul LePage.
My fellow Mainers, I told you about some disturbing news last week. You are paying considerably more than you should for electricity. This week, I have more bad news.
Supporters of more expensive energy are planning to double the fee that is added to your electric bill every month.…

Here is evidence that "Green" propaganda from the Obama administration has gone too far. Now, the US Postal Service (another entity that can't balance its budget!) is doing stamp cancellations with wind turbines! This card was sent to Mr. Watson at his business and he shared it with me. This is outrageous mis-use of the power to suggest approval and promotion of wind power.…

Carbon_equation_Jan_2009.pdf There is very little evidence that this is the case and indeed mounting evidence that wind generated power is not carbon friendly.

In Maine, which because of prevailing winds gets smog from most of the Northeast, there were so many complaints about $24 tests that began in the state's southern half last July that the state suspended the mandatory program in November. The fee was reduced to $14 and the tests were made voluntary, but ultimately the whole program was repealed.
This state has never had any kind of emissions testing ever, then it went from 0 to 60 immediately,'' Deborah Garrett, a spokeswoman for the…

These liars stated today before the Environment & Natural Resources Committee that wind power has actually lowered Maine's electricity rates when the reason rates went down was natural gas - something they fight. In fact, the transmission portion of the rates went up on July 1 by 20% due to wind power.

Please tune in at the following Web link to listen to the public hearing on the two wind bills below. Note that if one of the media players does not work, they offer alternative media players.
It will be dead air until they start.

******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********
(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
