9/21/12 - UMPI turbine website reports it is ACTUALLY WORKIN , after 180 days.
As of 1:30 PM today, the "live turbine data" web page reports: wind at 7.6 mph, blade pitch at 2 degrees, rotor at 28.8 rpm, 25,000 kwh produced, generator temperature 21 C, power producrion minus 0.1kw, 412 Volts. The bar chart is unchanged and (not labled) it is about 17 months old. The power produced is a puzzle, since it gives no dates. The cute…

After many months, the "live wind data" page of the UMPI turbine is reporting something! But the turbine is still not generating power.Iin a 12 mph wind, rotor rpm and generator rpm are zero, and power output is MINUS .4 kWh. That's 400 watts of grid power, being used to keep the machine working. At least something is working, and there is an effort to get it all…

Angus King's partner in Independence Wind, Robert Gardiner, sent the following letter to the Governor's Task Force on Wind Power's chairman Alec Giffen. Gardiner's suggestions about preventing objections based on scenic impact and the unrebuttable presumption about wind power's benefits were incorporated into the law. At the time King and Gardiner already had their MET towers up in Roxbury, and they needed to bulletproof the project against it's drastic impacts on the scenic character of…

The following article outlines some of the best information regarding the Wind Industry throughout the world. I think it is imperative we know all the facts, and where to find data to back them up. It is quite a read, but well worth it.…

I don't begrudge anyone from starting up a new business that they think might improve the quality of life, create jobs, make a profit, improve technology nad make Maine a leader. But Industrial Wind does nothing of those things. Gov. King's own words prove it. "I didn't see how I could credibly talk about energy in Maine (as a Senate candidate) while I was in a…

A new television spot by a national Republican group blasts independent U.S. Senate candidate Angus King and Democrat Cynthia Dill for their support of industrial wind.
The 30-second spot is part of a reported $600,000 advertising buy from the National Republican Senatorial Committee. The ad, entitled "Caught," builds off recent attacks by Republicans who say that King shouldn't…

the latest angus king/solyndra comparison is perfect. He has no dignity, no scruples, as he and his family line their pockets with taxpayer money under the guise of green energy.
Bernie Madoff is a saint compared to the wind scam in maine.
Let's hope the Maine voters see thru this ruse as it is - a scam disguised as green energy solutions to the world's problems. Wind power overtakes the former oldest profession. the taxpayers of maine and the electric…

But that’s not where the story ends. It seems that before he left the company, King helped apply for a Department of Energy grant worth some $33 million. Which means one of two things: either the company was thriving, in which case King was helping bilk taxpayers for an additional $33 million; or the company was having financial difficulties, in which case the $33 million grant was designed to help cover the cost of the loans, $23 million of which was coming due with a maturity date of April…

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
