The following groups have petitioned the PUC to intervene in the NECEC  case. I wonder how many have wind pushing them .

Kibby Wind

I skied at Sugarloaf on March 26 & 27, 2018.  LD 1810 would have extended the scenic impact zone for wind projects to 40 miles.  While that seems like a lot, recent attempts in other legislation supported by the Maine Appalachian Trail Club and others would extend the impact zone to 15 miles from either side of the Appalachian Trail.  The AT crosses Crocker Mt and most of the Bigelow Range.  If either of the proposed increases had been adopted instead of killed by the Maine Legislature's…

Canton Mt. Wind

Driving on State Rte 4 through the Androscoggin River valley towns of Livermore Falls and Jay, Maine's newest wind project on Canton Mt. was jarring as to how dominating it is in the affected region.  While the Patriot Renewables website touts the project with production figures showing expected capacity factor to the 30.9%, Eric Tuttle has been tracking its output via ISO-NE and shared recent days tracking on a Face Book discussion.  Here is a photo of the project taken from North Jay, as…

Wind Pushing CLF Concerned About Hydro Transmission Line's Effect on Birds!

Just curious, why is it anytime wind power opponents call out wind projects for killing birds, the so called environmental groups tell us there's nothing to worry about?

From the article, Next up, Central Maine Power - Mass. drops N. Pass, opts instead for Maine transmission line:

Greg Cunningham, a vice president at the Conservation Law Foundation said the proposed route of the…

Understanding Vermont’s Energy Policies (Annette Smith)

Vermonters for a Clean Environment (VCE) provides facts and information so people can make informed

decisions. In our discussions with Vermonters it became evident that most residents do not understand the

statutory mechanisms to achieve the state’s renewable energy goals. To that end, this paper provides an overview of enacted policies, a discussion about northern Vermont’s grid constraints, and information about Vermont as part of the regional electric grid.…

Mass ends talks with Northern Pass, clears way for CMP project

The Massachusetts Clean Energy RFP issued a statement saying that the state’s electric utilities had terminated the conditional selection of the Northern Pass project and are now working to conclude negotiations with Central Maine Power for its New England Clean Energy Connect line.

The action comes after a siting committee in New Hampshire rejected the Northern Pass proposal, and the developer was unable to gain approval by a March 27 deadline set by…

“What’s going to happen when we give them the authority to hide information?”

When criminals, corrupt government agencies and sociopaths are in charge, they make it up as they go along. This is why the public knows nothing about the 38,000 eagles that have been secretly shipped to the Denver Eagle Repository. This is why fraudulent research is conducted, data is rigged and there is no accountability .…

Only wind energy research being conducted is research that can be rigged - A report from the UK

This is an interesting post about the satellite tagged golden eagles that have gone missing in Scotland.
What makes this post so interesting are not all the lies and coverup being printed in a panic by Raptor Prosecution, but the comments made by Mr. Adam’s (BSc, Physics) ‘critique’ of Scotland’s obvious non-random golden eagle Satellite tracking data that has been released.          …

John Droz, Jr: Mainstream Environmental Groups, China and Russia All Subverting U.S. Energy Policies

There is significant evidence that our country’s enemies (esp. Russia and China)

are purposefully subverting our energy sector in a variety of ways. Of course they are

being clandestine about this, in hopes that few citizens will notice. One of their most

effective tactics is for them to support US organizations whose energy agenda is

synonymous with theirs.

For example, carefully consider these key energy questions. Who is it that wants:

1) US…

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
