Signs are back up - we agree with Eric Tuttle -  most likely Muzzy called Augusta and complained - MEDOT has some explaining to do. Why where MRFC's sign conficsated and the others that weren't in compliance were left?? 

October will be a busy month for Saving Maine's statewide media campaign with new :60 radio spots and newspaper ads supporting the "Truth About Wind" campaign - all leading up to the election on November 4th. Once again, we will be airing our popular Saving Maine radio program on WGAN in the southern Maine market and WVOM in Greater Bangor, Downeast and central Maine markets. Saving Maine will be supporting a statewide newspaper and radio campaign this fall with new ads starting this weekend in the Bangor Daily News and Maine Sunday Telegram. Additional plans include ads in local publications such as the Ellsworth American and Kennebec Journal.  In addition, we have extended our "Saving Maine" radio program through October to coincide with the elections and compliment the newspaper. As we stated in May, Saving Maine's statewide public education program highlighting "The Truth About Wind Power" would take a summer hiatus around July 4th and resume with statewide radio in August. Starting Monday,  August 18th, we will be running three radio commercials ("Poor Wind," "Wind Exporters," and "Goodbye Saddleback") on WGAN and WVOM. The radio schedule runs through September. Can't thank everyone who has donated to the Saving Maine campaign so far. Today was a great day at the "donate" button. Every dollar we raise goes to telling the truth about wind power and other environmental challenges facing Maine. So thank you all and tell your friends to show their support for the new campaign. Saving Maine's ad campaign is appearing this weekend in the Maine Sunday Telegram and BDN weekend edition with two ads per edition. It's also running in the Tuesday (7/1) editions of the Kennebec  Journal, Waterville Sentinel and Sun Journal. Two ads will be in each edition as well. We're finishing up a very strong opening week with ads in the weekend edition of the BND and the Maine Sunday Telegram. Two hard hitting ads in each paper will be seen by tens of thousands of Mainers and tourists over this coming weekend. Something to look forward to on Sunday morning. The Saving Maine web site , www.SavingMaine.org, has been renovated and is up and running with a new donation option, a "who we are" page, and more. Our plan calls for an entirely new site over the coming weeks. We want to thank everyone for their positive comments and their encouragement. Saving Maine's statewide media effort starts this Thursday in the BDN and Falmouth Forecaster. The campaign will appear in the Portland Press Herald next week. Stay tuned.

Gov. LePage gave us a big boost tonight in the his state-of-the-state address when he told Democrats to stop pandering to special interest (wind industry) and get on board with his big hydro/natural gas plan. It's a big opening for us and another clear sign he's willing to make a change in Maine's energy policy. We need to show our support now! Send the governor and email praising his position tonight!

Another voice is heard from - read Phillip Conkling's op-ed in today's on line BDN about the environment and off shore wind. The misinformation never stops coming.

I know it's the holidays, but go to the McLaughlin Group site - go to the bottom of the Homepage and use the "make a comment" feature to thank them for talking about bird/bat mortality as one of the biggest lies of 2013 - encourage them to up the ante on big wind - tell them our story - you never know. Tell them about Angus Kings' wind interest and his son's involvement w/FW - they may say more about it in upcoming broadcasts. Thanks and Happy Holidays!!

Is there some in CTOW who can respond to the NELA letter to set the record straight. We're up to our ears in press work here at FMM and would appreciate someone taking that on. We can't let this stuff go unchallenged. Allowing the public to think/believe that windmills in ME reduces pollution from the Midwest is extremely is a complete falsehood and needs to be called out. Selling REC to Midwest polluters is what's coming from ME wind developers - Thanks. RM

I'm sure it's due to the Wyoming case where Duke Energy was held criminally (convicted) liable for killing eagles at a number of their wind farms. So, the President is going to ask Congress to pass a 30 year exemption for the developers so they can kill these poor animals without any recourse. I wonder if the developers in Maine have secured their permits to kill eagles - maybe we should call and ask the Audubon Society to comment.
