Maine DOT employees removed close to 200 yard signs protesting the Sun Edison and Everpower wind projects proposed for the Moosehead region.  These signs, which read SAVE MOOSEHEAD SAY NO TO WIND were removed from private properties, including business properties. These signs were put up by members and supporters of the Moosehead Region Futures Committee.  When MDOT employees were asked who ordered this, they said "Augusta". Some of the individuals removing the signs said they were…

Kingsbury wind

Sun Edison appears to be in as much trouble financially as First Wind was - And Maine State Auditor Pola Buckley thinks nothing about calling off the Maine UT State Auditor when First Wind's finances were questioned.  " We don't get involved in policy decisions".  Huh! Isn't that your job?!!

And now Ray Kusche, former power manager for Cate Street Capital ( of Millinocket mill fame) is now in charge of development in the Northeast for Sun Edison!

Here is more about Sun Edison…

THE THINGS YOU LEARN! Iberdrola owner of CMP

Here is an interesting article about our own Iberdrola - Who by the way was the largest recipient of US Federal ARRA grants (and our own First Wind #2).  Any wonder why we have no money for the transportation fund!!  We're giving it all away and some to foreign companies!…

If you believe this one, I've got some swampland in Florida for you.

The CEO of Sun Edison, our friends with dubious dollars, and even more dubious credibility, say losing the PTC will not hurt them at all.  HAH!

Amazing! Even though our Wind power is a minuscule % of our output!

Maine is #1 in CO2 reduction over the last decade and a half, and we have almost no production from wind.  It just looks like a lot.  The billions that have been spent on towers, turbines and grid updates have little or no effect on the CO2 level, even though measuring the CO2 level is something that is dubious at best.  Wind can hardly take credit for this noteworthy award.…

Southern New England is Selling Us Off

The Boston Globe is touting all the wind energy they can get from wind farms in Northern Maine to replace the huge amount of energy they are going to lose from Pilgrim Nuke.  The only problem is the out of date grid.  Here is a proposition - Southern New Englanders pay for those upgrades to OUR grid because we don't need those upgrades.  Better yet, have them pay for hydro projects that will produce meaningful energy and travel on existing grid lines.  Why should we be stuck for the bills of…

Vermont's PUC: Vermont’s green energy plan not about global warming

It was never about global warming. Global warming simply provided cover for developers, corrupt politicians and so called environmental groups to line their pockets. The mainstream media know this, but most are part of the problem.

Angus King Query: Was the SunEdison Crew that Just Dealt out $2.5 million in "Mitigation" Protected by Angus King back in the 1990's?

It appears that at least two persons involved with SunEdison (which acquired First Wind) were with Kenetech, a wind company that set aside $300,000 in "mitigation" for so called Maine environmental groups in the 1990's. The two persons are Michael U. Alvarez, SVP Global Operations of SunEdison and Mark Lerdal, Independent Director of TerraForm Power, a SunEdison affiliate.

Apparently both of these fellows worked for Kenetech. Appearing below (in a blue font) is an excerpt from…

The Left’s War on Comment Sections

The internet was born open but is becoming closed everywhere. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the rush to shutter readers’ comments sections at major news organisations. Cheered on by intolerant, snobbish cultural elites, news organisations from The Verge to The Daily Beast have, in recent months, informed their readers to take their opinions elsewhere.…

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
