Why Can't Our Legislators Take The Same View?
In Scotland, the people are finally getting fed up with the destruction of view and wildlife and rejected a new set of wind turbines. Why is it that our legislators can't see the same destruction? Could it be that they almost all live in the part of the state that have no turbines? Or could it be they are in somebody's pocket? I don't know, but we sure need to get some of the Southern Maine Population up North to see what is really happening. Pictures just don't do it justice!

And when a law is enacted (someday in the future) that all residential and small business must draw from (Mandated) Green Energy, leaving a lesser expensive (due to lower demand) Fossil fuels to the massive industrial sector, will they realize they are then trapped to controlled prices which will skyrocket due to no more subsidies and (falsely justified) increased construction costs and lack of suitable land remaining (speculation driven market). We could cover the entire planet with these green machines, and when completed and the demand still rises, then what? Synthafood? Synthasunshine? Synthawater? will it all become manufactured? Or will our genetic engineered bodies and robotic humanoid servants have to adapt or not require.

Until the economic value of a scenic viewshed is figured into the equation, I don't think southern Maine is going to give a damn about the mountains being industrialized or wildlife habitat being fragmented and destroyed. Until the price of "green energy" hits them in the pocket book they won't care about rural residents being driven from their homes or small towns being torn apart by the wind development. They aren't looking at the big picture or questioning anything that might throw a shadow on their vision of a Maine carpeted with huge majestic wind turbines, iconic figureheads that will "wean us off of foreign oil".
