Troy Jackson Explaining How Maine Gets Rich From Aroostook County Wind/Transmission Project.

Here is Troy Jackson talking to Seth Berry about the Aroostook County Wind And Transmission Project

Rememeber, all wind projects in Maine are privately owned and power from these projects are sold by power purchase agreements to utilities, companies like Google or sold as a merchant plant into the ISO-NE administered wholesale market. These power purchase agreements are contracts between the wind project owner and the buyer. The state's only part in this relationship is to force the Maine investor-owned utilities into to buying the power and reselling it as if they were a merchant plant. Obviously, the state can not force utilities in other states to buy this power. By the way, the cost to Maine ratepayers from forced power purchase agreements on CMP and Versant from 2018 to 2025 is $65,996,299.00 and climbing with each passing day.

Also, remember Seth Berry wants Maine people to cough up several tens of billions of dollars to buy CMP and Versant.

Troy Jackson along with Seth Berry are scheming a doomsday scenario for Maine.

From the transcript:

the line is obviously a lot of money. Uh it's projected $1.8 billion. If you think about that, that's exactly the amount of money that Donald Trump just got for his J6 slush fund. $1.8 billion.
8:32
8 minutes, 32 seconds
So, it's it's it's not out out it's not out of the realm at all to to to build something like this, the opportunity
8:39
8 minutes, 39 seconds
that it costs u that it creates for work across Maine, but there's so much availability of wind in Aroostook County and it's a lot easier to site it there.
8:51
8 minutes, 51 seconds
It's a lot easier to get people to believe in it there. Um and I see this as the way that we change the state. I
8:59
8 minutes, 59 seconds
see this the way that we lower our energy costs. I see this as a way that we put money into other programs because
9:06
9 minutes, 6 seconds
every other state uh in New England has got energy goals, climate goals, you know, and and I believe that they're going to have to come to Maine for that.
9:15
9 minutes, 15 seconds
Now, we can, you know, give our wind away. We can give our power away to them or we can charge them. And and I really
9:23
9 minutes, 23 seconds
think that the the key here is that we need to build that line and charge them for the power that we do have in Maine
9:31
9 minutes, 31 seconds
and transform our economy. I mean lower our energy rates but also have extra money um you know to put into other
9:38
9 minutes, 38 seconds
programs that you know I think is important. This is a this is I mean this is really doable and I think it's something that uh you know we can set
9:47
9 minutes, 47 seconds
ourselves up for generations here. I'm not interested I'm not so much interested in partnering with other states. I mean that's you know I'm I
9:57
9 minutes, 57 seconds
certainly don't want to upset other states but at the same time this is our chance to to really change the state of
10:04
10 minutes, 4 seconds
Maine in a way that I don't think anyone really has ever had the opportunity to see. We can be like a real Saudi Arabia
10:13
10 minutes, 13 seconds
of wind here. Um and they're going to buy it. I mean they have to. They have no other option. So that's kind of I
10:20
10 minutes, 20 seconds
mean my overall mindset in this one, you know, we have to get on top of the utilities. I mean, they're not playing
10:29
10 minutes, 29 seconds
fair. Uh, you know, we don't have a good grid because of they're un they're not
10:35
10 minutes, 35 seconds
being willing to upgrade. And two, we need to to get off fossil fuels. And we can do that right here in Maine in a
10:43
10 minutes, 43 seconds
way that's actually going to lower our costs and make this state much more profitable for the people in it.

Wow Dan, thanks for posting that link.  What a talented individual TJ is, the perfect politician for the Democratic senate race against Susan Collins!

Jackson couldn't even get the votes in 2023 to win a seat on the Allagash select board.

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
