ISO-NE, Clean and Reliable Electricity at Any Cost?

"Over the years, the region has become more reliant on imported fuels and the need for a robust and sustainable solution has grown more urgent. Increasingly, we are reminded—as we were during the pandemic, and more recently with the Russian incursion into Ukraine—that geopolitical events are quickly felt locally, exacerbating supply issues and increasing both supply risk and pricing uncertainty. Urgency is warranted—in the past two years, four out of seven independent service operators and regional transmission organizations in the U.S. have resorted to controlled outages because extreme weather limited energy supplies. Although that hasn’t happened here, the fact is New England’s grid is susceptible to risk from multiple factors throughout the coldest months of the year."

Reason #294 to NOT Buy an Electric Vehicle: Automakers Are Committing Suicide to Appease the Woke Climate Change Mob

The answer to everything is "follow the money"!  Jared Golden also receives $$ from many "sources' within the party, outside the party, some staff support, clerical (who do you think actually write all of the letters, etc)...most form letters are prepared, but modified based on the issue, to make Senators and congress people seem to know what the are talking about...very rare that they do!

The subsidies for wind, solar, etc...are used as bargaining chips with potential investors and the utilities that buy the power.  I have been in meetings where these where discussed and used to help finance projects.  I was quite surprised by the negotiations with the potential individual and corporate investors who were being wooed, based on potential subsidies and returns.

While I cannot speak as to Gordon's role in the green energy debacle I can state unequivocally Cheryl follows the democratic green energy initiative [with massive kickbacks from wind and solar] and couldn't find her way out of paper bag without a guidebook.   Cheryl is a cheerleader for AOC's green new deal that is bankrupting this country - literally.  The sooner some degree of sanity can bring this runaway freight train to a stop, the sooner we can standardize the electric output with extremely functional and reliable fossil fuels.  I am bowing to the east and burning incense in hopes that the never ending subsidies that keep wind and solar [as well as the corruption otherwise known as Angus King] alive will be deleted from the Congressional budget once the election is overthrown.

Green Energy Push to Blame for Coming Wave of Power Outages Across America
“The areas of the country I’d be most concerned about are the ones that already have inherent weaknesses,” Turner added.

“Texas, California, New Mexico, New York, all of New England. These are areas whose policies and political decisions have weakened their electric grid.”

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
