From Europe to Asia and beyond, coal is back as oil and gas shortages and Russian sanctions strangle major economies. The de-carbonization crowd's failed ideology has been exposed.

I find it so ironic that the general consensus is that coal is dirty and generates pollution: the federal EPA in the Clean Air Act of 1976(?) set standards that pushed the electric generation industry to go to great lengths to clean up their emissions and they did just that. US power generation by coal has incredibly clean air emissions but that doesn't carry over to China or India although India is now realizing that they could lower medical costs for treatment of respiratory diseases by cleaning up air emissions from coal burning power plants.
Anyway, my company has developed a way to make synthetic crude from bituminous coal and the entire process is done at ambient temperature and pressure so it is a low energy input and high energy output reaction. This is done by using a biosolvent that is extracted from the synthetic crude oil after production by low temp distillation so it can be reused. The residual coal is incredibly clean burning with extremely low ash and below minimal air emissions and the synthetic crude oil processes through the refinery much easier since it has no wax or debris to remove prior to distillation.
Coal will become the backbone in the green revolution even though the democrats can't seem to get that through their thick heads yet.
I agree 100% with you, Thinklike A. Mountain. Fossil fuels have enriched human existence in so many ways, it is actually impossible to go through a day void of fossil fuel products. We still have a chance, a good chance to throw this climate change bullshit into the ash heap of history. November 8, 2022 is D-Day.
Those who rally around the "green" must be voted out, like Mills and essentially all the democrats and a good portion of the republicans who are Rinos. Speak now or live a horrendous life of energy poverty that will lead to catastrophic loss of the food supplies.
Sherwin - I disagree that oil and gas are in short supply. It might feel that way when neighboring states don't allow pipelines that would let Maine tap into some of the nation's largest gas deposits in PA and NY. It might seem that way when government threatens to put oil and gas companies out of business, making them leery about making giant investments in exploration, drilling, refining, etc.
But we have no shortage of the raw materials. At some point, as has always been the case in past human history, we will find substitutes which in the year 2022 would come across like impossible science fiction. In the meantime, we have incredible reserves to get us to the future. Finally, the future is NOT wind power. Just read the past blogs on this site if you think differently. By the way, the "all of the above" energy strategy is totally bogus. If something can't stand on its own two feet, kill it and let the investments go into things that can. "All of the above" sounds good on the surface but once you think about it, it's nothing but a hiding place for fraudulent energy sources that are worthless.
I would also add when one takes a big step back, that the benefits to society in terms of health and dealing with the climate (such as not freezing to death in a cave somewhere) are huge and dwarf any negatives.
It's too bad that the World is HOOKED on Gas & Oil and now because OIL is in such short Supply- and Coal too! The Human Race has to rethink its existence on this Planet as to whether IT wants to survive!
The Conversion to WIND (in the appropriate places), Solar, Geothermal, and Bio Fuels Energy Production!
The BURNING Of Coal Is Not only the WRONG Answer -but it is one of the DESTROYERS of this Earth's Environment!
IF Man does NOT or will NOT make any effort to preserve this planet's Environment- then Man will cease to exist on this Planet!
If we had honest media, one would be hearing about the outright failure of wind and solar every day and everywhere. The reporting would include the basic facts that can be seen on this citizens' website going back for a dozen or more years. The facts are on our side and it's a slam dunk.
I'm tired of hearing even some conservatives treating a 100% "green" society as inevitable and meekly saying we need fossil fuel until "the transition" is complete. Transition? What transition. A change in the laws of physics? It's not going to happen. Especially since nuclear is basically off limits.
Unfortunately, when the powers that be decide that something is going to happen (in this case the Ponzi schemes of wind and solar), the media are pure propagandists for the cause. They only perform their watchdog roles when the powers that be command them to attack.
It's not a matter of the media watchdogs simply not barking but rather that they are professional liars - keyboards and cameras for hire. We need to throw out what has become a criminal Democrat party in November 2022 as a start and one of the first orders of business should be a full-blown congressional investigation of what has happened to our media and all the other institutions that have gone "woke".
Go ahead, say it out loud. "Something is terribly wrong".
For our part, the people must trust their instincts and realize the state of things today are very, very wrong and that it didn't just get this way by chance, but rather by unprecedented infiltration from outside and within.
People must not fear being called some name by "daring" to call out the sickeningly surreal conditions in America today. Keeping one's mouth shut no longer works. To use a slogan from the left, "silence is violence", actually self-destruction. The time for silence has passed.
Again, once we hopefully vote in a new congress, we must all call for REAL investigations of the propagandist media. At that point they will inevitably hide behind "freedom of speech", suddenly embracing the Constitution. But sorry, incessant propagandists fascistically in lockstep with the government using their powers to destroy our country have gone way, way beyond simple free speech. In fact, beyond their own bullhorns, they are doing everything in their power to stop free speech. It is out of control and the solution starts with us.

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
