Production Tax Credit Renewal Being Pushed Hard by Wind Industry
As everyone expected, a full court press is happening with the wind industry and their cronies in Congress, trying desperately to get the Production Tax Credit renewed and extended. They have joined the others in the pack of taxpayer funding thieves to get a broad "Extender" bill passed. You can help stop this.
Friends of Maine's Mountains has set up a letter opposing the PTC extension that you can electronically "sign".

in the message, include:
1. Your name and your Maine address.
2. Your name and address for property you own outside Maine (we will add you to the letter from that state).
3. Names / addresses of spouses and family members who can also sign the letter.
An excellent critique of the Wind PTC was just published in the Wall Street Journal. Here is an excerpt:

Over the past seven years, the PTC has cost taxpayers $7.3 billion, and it is expected to pay out $2.4 billion more in 2015. Combined with other subsidies and programs, wind generators received $56.29 in government subsidies per megawatt-hour in 2010, according to a 2012 report from the Institute for Energy Research. That’s compared with 64 cents in subsidies for natural gas and $3.14 for nuclear power. "
