Private Investigators in Maine hired by Citizens' Anti-Wind Groups

Remember folks, the modus operandi and "business plan" of wind companies has not changed in Maine since the inception of PL-661 in 2008 (Expedited Wind Law).

The law was designed by big wind and numerous self-serving unctuous politicians (think Angus King)  and  deceptive "enviro"lawyers  to destroy Mainers' constitutional  and  property rights and to enable their scheme. Other ignorant or ill-informed politicians at the time "assumed" the benefits of Industrial Wind (there has never been a cost/benefit analysis done of grid scale wind in Maine by the DEP or other agencies). Why?

Industrial wind in Maine grows projects  by repeating its  successful  business  game plan  time after time because subsidy scamming wind companies have  used copious tax payer subsidy  money to destroy naive  taxpayer's rights and property .

They use base tactics in addition to their financial  and political clout to defeat all citizen efforts to defend themselves.

Consider the words collusion, corruption, bribery and  self-serving interests of the few over the rights of the many.

Wind scammers' well paid  point-men and women  infiltrate  communities years prior to their first "public meeting" (another procedural scam as they refuse to take group questions ).Met  towers "pop up" in certain places (meteorological data towers). Secret meetings occur with large land owners  . Goodies of all kinds are passed  to naive and often willing takers of "favors"  . Snow mobile clubs and ATV clubs get promises of more and better trails,as well as direct contributions. Hot dog and hamburger parties occur.

"Corporate Environmental" groups like NRCM ,Audubon and Sierra Club get large "donations" to support the project.

Dreams of shiny new fire engines and police cars are dangled in front of financially strapped poor rural towns . Selectmen are enticed by "favors" to prevent citizen initiated local protective anti-wind ordinances and moratoriums in the affected towns that can modify, delay or defeat a project . Officials  are told the "presumed  benefits" of the industrial complex, but none of the serious  downsides to it.

No meetings are recorded officially by town officials in the early stages.

Executive sessions are used to arrange wind company  tax preferential treatment, secretly .

Naive town officials are told all information is  "proprietary" by the industrial wind company. Money can be passed under the table ,but never disclosed or recorded.

More individual meetings with land owners are arranged.

Large land owners leases are arranged and kept secret from the public.

No emails are sent (no  Hillary email tactics are used, they are smarter than that)..

When lease time comes for the project , squelch clauses are in place that threaten the lessee to never  divulge anything about the soon to be announced project, nor oppose it .

They know the game,do you?

Private Investigators do wonderful  things indeed.

The Exposure of the Truth of Industrial Wind Methodologies is a must!

The Exposure of the truth is their Achilles heel......

Absolutely true. When I first heard about the Bowers project, I had a few questions for First Wind. I very cordially emailed the project manager with my questions but his only reply was "call me at xxx-xxxx". I emailed several times but got the same answer every time. In the end I got the answers I needed from someone I know who worked at First Wind.

After an initial "public information meeting" with the people of Carroll Plt, First Wind held another meeting for the residents specifically to explain all the financial benefits they were offering. They even brought in a woman from Eaton Peabody to explain it all. Apparently First Wind thinks rural Mainers find such topics difficult to understand. At that meeting a hired thug interrupted to confront a citizen who was filming the meeting. He got in the guy's face an pronounced in a very intimidating way that he has no right to record the meeting. The citizen stood his ground and kept recording anyway. Sure wish I could get my hands on that film!

DEP controls all permits......short of a Public Hearing, all chances of the truth being told is nilch.

Easements acknowledge harm.....google your Wind Project and easements.   yes many have signed a "hold Harmless" easement way before DEP issues a permit.  We cannot fight until a  permit is accepted for application.  be ready?       Easements acknowledge harm.

Yep, that's exactly how it all goes down. We thought we had a group of savvy, intelligent, dedicated Clifton citizens watching their every move. Hah! How naive we were. We needed money and we needed to be able to think as deviously as the developer and the town officials did. Early on I asked the Planning Board when were they going to get the public informed and the developer amswered for them. "When you get the ordinance written and then you will know the answers to their questions," he says. And the Planning Board members nod in agreement. The minutes of the meeting come out and the Board says they intend to do everything they can to make the project happen. And still I was too naive to catch on to the big picture. A fellow citizen and co-volunteer comes up to me after that meeting and quietly says, you know you could work for 'the developer' (he named the guy). I laughed and said, don't think so. And still it never occured to me the extent and coordination of the underlying game that was being played.

the wind machine wants us to think ordinary citizens don't stand much of a chance against this well-organized and well-funded movement to take advantage of Maine's small, rural and unorganized population and it's mostly volunteer town goveenment. The extent to which the wind industry has gone to foist this scheme on our State is beyond most good citizens comprehension. It's so unbelievable, it's easier to believe that a few Nimby's are trying to stand in the way of a new era of environmently-friendly and planet-saving energy production. If I hadn't been brought up close and first hand to all the strategy and tactics of the wind industry and their gullible go-fers, maybe I wouldn't be able to believe it either.

Unfortunately, there are few resources available to get the truth about this scam and the blood suckers pushing it to the public at large. They have the 'sceientific proof', the 'qualified experts', the 'legal authority', the 'commendable mission', .... and the dollars to be sure everyone knows who's on the right side of this debate. And who's preventing the property taxpayer from getting that humongous 'windfall' that will bring blessed financial security to all.

It's been a hard fight and we've taken some hard knocks but we can't give up. My experience is that either people get it or don't as to the injustice that is happening. Many will accept that it's just a fight between developers and neighbors and none of their business. Keep getting the facts out and if it requires private investigators to corroborate some of the shenanigans, find a way to get that done. Don't accept anything on face value. Don't give the benefit of the doubt to town officials. Make them accountable for legal and ethical procedure. Don't let burn-out overcome your efforts. Find ways to vent your anger and frustration and return to the fight. When someone else if floundering, help pick up the load. We're in this together and the easiest way to lose is to give up. We ain't doin' that. Right?

The law was designed by big wind sociopaths to secure maximum profits at the expense of every citizen and every flying creature in Maine.

They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
